EMITT - Countries Around the Globe have an Eye on this Travel Show


The number of countries wishing to take part in the EMITT East Mediterranean Tourism & Travel Exhibition to be held for the 17th time in TUYAP on January 24-27, 2013 keeps growing with each passing year. EMITT 2013 to host around 70 countries becomes the spot of an ever growing base of participants every year, compared to the previous years.

Pointing that EMITT witnesses a fast growth and breaks a record every single year with no exception, Hacer Aydın, Director of Ekin Fuar, stated that countries assertive in tourism have two different lists in their fair schedule, and that the first list contains countries with a high visiting potential while the second would contain the countries with a less number of visits. She further emphasized that given the condition in question, Turkey which was once ranked in the 2nd list of many tourism countries, has acquired a place in the 1st during the recent years, and that EMITT enjoys an increased attention due to the increased number of countries visited by Turkish tourists.

Reminding that the number of Turkish tourists visiting foreign countries was around 2.7 millions in 1991, and that this number grew as 12.2 million tourists as of the end of 2012, Aydın, highlighted that countries willing to attract the Turkish tourists with increased importance are focusing on promotional activities and that EMITT has become a priority address during this course.

Pointing that Turkey's competitors in tourism such Greece, Spain and Italy in particular, also attribute a special importance to the promotion of tourism in Turkey, Aydın further emphasized that the drift contributes to a large acceleration of Turkey's tourism exhibition segment. Stating that countries of Southern Europe, the Middle East, Balkans and South America give substantial importance to the EMITT Exhibition, Aydın also pointed out her belief that the rapid flow would add to the tourism exhibition activities' higher ranking during the coming years.
