Celebrate Ho Chi Minh City's Golden Jubilee: Why July 2026 Is the Perfect Time to Visit Vietnam's Vibrant Southern Capital

Ho Chi Minh City celebrates the 50th anniversary
July 2026 is an extraordinary time to visit Ho Chi Minh City as Vietnam's largest metropolis celebrates the 50th anniversary of officially being named after President Ho Chi Minh. Marking five decades since 2 July 1976, the city embraced this historic milestone with spectacular cultural events, dazzling evening entertainment, public exhibitions and celebrations that showcased its remarkable journey from the past to the present.

For international travellers, the anniversary offered a unique opportunity to experience one of Southeast Asia's most exciting destinations during one of its biggest civic celebrations.

A City Celebrating 50 Remarkable Years

The anniversary commemorated the day when Saigon–Gia Dinh was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City on 2 July 1976.

Throughout late June and early July 2026, the city hosted a series of commemorative events including historical exhibitions, public art displays, cultural performances, community celebrations and official ceremonies. The programme reached its climax on 2 July with a grand anniversary ceremony that highlighted the city's transformation over the past five decades and celebrated its ambitions for the future.

Visitors enjoyed an atmosphere filled with civic pride, cultural expression and vibrant community spirit, making July one of the most memorable times of the year to explore Ho Chi Minh City.

Sixteen Fireworks Displays Light Up the Night

Ho Chi Minh City 50th anniversary
One of the most unforgettable moments of the anniversary celebrations took place at exactly 9.00 pm on 2 July 2026, when 16 synchronised high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks displays illuminated the skies across Ho Chi Minh City.

The largest and most spectacular display was launched from the Saigon River Tunnel entrance, where more than 1,000 high-altitude fireworks, 200 low-altitude fireworks and dozens of spectacular pyrotechnic effects created a breathtaking 15-minute display over the city's skyline. Thousands of residents and visitors gathered along the riverfront to witness the colourful celebration reflected across the Saigon River.

The anniversary celebrations extended beyond the city centre. At Bai Sau (Back Beach) in Vung Tau, huge crowds gathered along the coastline, beaches and parklands to enjoy another magnificent high-altitude fireworks display. Meanwhile, New City Central Park in Binh Duong hosted its own spectacular fireworks event, drawing thousands of spectators who joined in celebrating this historic milestone.

Combined with stunning 3D mapping projections on landmark buildings and an exciting programme of cultural performances, the synchronised fireworks created one of the largest and most memorable public celebrations ever staged in southern Vietnam.

Viet Nam Introduces New Visa Incentives to Boost Tourism, Investment and Global Collaboration

Tourists in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
New Visa Exemption Plan Opens the Door for International Visitors

Viet Nam is taking a major step toward strengthening its global connections with a newly approved plan introducing visa incentives and time-limited visa exemptions for eligible foreign nationals. The initiative supports the country’s long-term strategy to attract international visitors, investors, researchers and business leaders while reinforcing its reputation as one of Asia’s most dynamic destinations.

The plan was approved by Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and implements the provisions outlined in Decree 221. The policy establishes preferential visa exemptions for designated foreign nationals who contribute to Viet Nam’s socio-economic development.

By simplifying entry procedures for key international partners, Viet Nam aims to enhance tourism growth, support business collaboration and encourage innovation across sectors including education, technology and investment.

Strengthening Viet Nam’s Global Tourism and Investment Appeal

The new visa initiative reflects Viet Nam’s commitment to becoming a leading destination for both leisure travellers and international business communities. The plan outlines clear responsibilities, timelines and coordination among government ministries, agencies and local authorities to ensure effective implementation.

Under the framework, the Ministry of Public Security will coordinate closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies to promote awareness of the visa exemption programme. Communication will take place through government platforms, international tourism channels and global investment forums to ensure eligible visitors are informed about the new opportunities.

The goal is to streamline entry for foreign nationals who meet the criteria while maintaining transparency, security and consistency across all administrative processes.

Special Visa Exemption Cards for Eligible Foreign Nationals

Tourists in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
One of the most significant aspects of the new plan is the introduction of special visa exemption cards for foreign nationals who qualify for preferential treatment under the decree.

Government ministries and agencies will propose individuals who meet the eligibility criteria. These may include foreign investors, international experts, academics, scientists and business leaders whose work supports Viet Nam’s economic and social development.

Agencies responsible for nominating individuals must ensure compliance with the criteria set out in Decree 221. They must also regularly review the eligibility of cardholders and notify authorities if a recipient no longer qualifies or no longer wishes to maintain visa exemption privileges.

This structured approach ensures that the programme remains effective while supporting Viet Nam’s broader development goals.

Collaboration Across Government and Industry

The implementation plan emphasises cooperation across ministries, government-affiliated agencies and provincial authorities to ensure that the visa incentives operate efficiently and transparently.

By March 1, 2026, all relevant agencies must review existing legal frameworks and recommend amendments or new regulations if necessary to support the implementation of the decree.

Looking ahead, additional responsibilities will be assigned to key ministries. The Ministry of Education and Training will develop criteria to identify leading research institutes and universities that can invite qualified foreign experts to Viet Nam.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance will establish guidelines to determine which major enterprises can sponsor international visitors under the preferential visa system.

These measures will help create stronger global partnerships while encouraging knowledge exchange and business investment.

Supporting Sustainable Tourism Growth

Tourists in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
The visa incentive programme forms part of Viet Nam’s broader strategy to expand tourism while supporting sustainable economic growth. By simplifying entry procedures for qualified foreign visitors, the country aims to attract new tourism markets, boost investment and strengthen its global reputation.

The Ministry of Public Security will oversee the evaluation of proposals from ministries and agencies before submitting final recommendations to the government. Approved institutions and companies will be authorised to invite foreign nationals under the preferential visa programme.

Progress reports on the implementation of Decree 221 will be submitted annually to the Prime Minister, ensuring ongoing monitoring and transparency.

As global travel continues to evolve, Viet Nam’s proactive approach to visa reform positions the country as an increasingly accessible and attractive destination for travellers, investors and international partners alike.

Exploring the Development Potential of Rail Tourism in Viet Nam

The Thong Nhat train
A New Era of Travel: Rail Tourism in Central Viet Nam

Viet Nam’s North-South railway line, running through the country’s central provinces, offers incredible potential to transform the tourism landscape. With destinations such as Quang Binh, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Thuan, and Khanh Hoa, the scenic railway routes present an exciting opportunity for tourists to explore the heart of the country in a unique and immersive way. The charm of train travel in Viet Nam, combined with its breathtaking landscapes, makes rail tourism an untapped goldmine.

Positive Momentum for Rail Tourism

In recent years, the push to develop tourist-friendly railway routes in Viet Nam’s central region has been met with promising results. Trains in the country are no longer just a means of transportation—they have become an integral part of the tourism experience, offering travelers the chance to journey through stunning scenery while connecting with the culture and history of each locality.

One of the most significant milestones in rail tourism development was the Memorandum of Understanding signed in July 2024 between the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism and Viet Nam Railways Corporation. This partnership opened new doors for collaboration between the tourism and railway sectors, aimed at promoting sustainable travel and boosting regional tourism.

In March 2024, the “Central Heritage Connection” train route was launched, connecting Da Nang and Hue City. The train journey offers passengers an unforgettable ride through the iconic Hai Van Pass, widely regarded as one of the most scenic railway routes in the world. This project has not only enhanced tourism in the region but has also contributed to easing road traffic congestion, providing a safer and more comfortable travel option for both locals and international tourists.

Expanding Rail Tourism in Quang Nam and Beyond

Quang Nam, a province with a rich cultural heritage, has also embraced rail tourism as part of its broader tourism development strategy. In January 2025, the luxury tourist train SJourney brought travelers to Tra Kieu Station in Duy Xuyen District, where they explored renowned green tourism destinations, including Hoi An Ancient Town, Cam Thanh Coconut Village, and Thanh Ha Pottery Village. This type of sustainable, eco-friendly tourism perfectly complements the local attractions, creating a memorable experience for visitors.

The partnership between Quang Nam Province and the Quang Nam Railway Corporation is further cemented by the 2024-2030 tourism development plan, which focuses on enhancing rail-based tourism, diversifying travel options, and increasing the number of visitors arriving via train. The goal is to expand the “Central Heritage Connection” route, connecting Da Nang, Hue, and Quang Nam while fostering collaboration between railway operators and local tourism businesses.

Meanwhile, the operation of luxury tourist trains on the Da Nang - Quy Nhon and Nha Trang - Quy Nhon routes has been a success, with over 600 tourists traveling daily to Dieu Tri and Quy Nhon stations in Binh Dinh Province. These trains, equipped with 5-star international amenities, offer a premium travel experience and are helping to boost the region’s appeal to high-end tourists.

Challenges and Opportunities for Growth

"Central Heritage Connection" on the Hue - Da Nang train
Despite the promising growth of rail tourism, challenges remain. According to the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism, the current railway infrastructure, although vast, still lacks modern amenities and is relatively slow compared to other modes of transport. The limited onboard services—such as food, entertainment, and comfort—have also been identified as areas that need improvement to meet the expectations of today’s travelers.

The lack of connectivity between railway stations and tourist attractions is another hurdle. The absence of an effective transit system makes it difficult for passengers to easily access popular destinations once they arrive at the station.

To overcome these limitations, experts suggest that Viet Nam look to countries with well-established rail tourism industries, such as Switzerland, Japan, and Thailand, which offer efficient and luxurious train travel experiences. Incorporating these best practices can help Viet Nam tap into the growing demand for rail-based tourism.

The Future of Rail Tourism in Viet Nam

Looking ahead, the potential for rail tourism in Viet Nam is enormous. The country’s railway network, stretching from the north to the south, provides a unique opportunity to develop tourism experiences that showcase the nation’s diverse landscapes, from lush plains to rugged mountains and pristine coastal areas.

Quang Nam and Da Nang are poised to become key players in this emerging market, with plans for new railway stations and urban rail lines that will connect Chu Lai International Airport and Hoi An City. These developments are expected to create seamless travel options for visitors, further enhancing the appeal of rail tourism.

The government and local authorities are also keen to invest in green and sustainable tourism products, such as cultural and culinary experiences, that can be integrated into the railway ecosystem. This will not only improve the overall tourist experience but also promote Viet Nam’s unique cultural heritage.

As Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism, rightly pointed out, the country’s railway network offers “safe and efficient” travel that is ideal for tourism. With the right investments and collaboration between sectors, rail tourism in Viet Nam can truly flourish, providing travelers with one of the most memorable ways to explore the country.

Viet Nam Ranks Among the Top Three Most-Searched Destinations by APAC Travelers

Vietnam
A Rising Star on the Global Travel Map

Viet Nam has firmly established itself as one of the most sought-after destinations in Asia Pacific (APAC), securing a spot among the top three most-searched locations during the EPIC Sale 2025. The campaign, which ran from April 22 to May 5, provided exclusive deals across seven key APAC markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Australia, and Viet Nam. The results revealed an encouraging trend for the Vietnamese tourism industry, as millions of travelers from across the region set their sights on the country's unique blend of cultural heritage, natural beauty, and modern charm.

A Boost to Viet Nam’s Tourism Appeal

As the tourism industry recovers and grows in Asia Pacific, Viet Nam is standing out as a top contender for both regional and international travelers. According to Traveloka, the leading travel booking platform in Southeast Asia, Viet Nam’s popularity has surged due to a combination of factors—affordable travel options, diverse attractions, and a well-preserved cultural identity.

The EPIC Sale 2025 not only revealed the most popular travel destinations in the region but also shed light on shifting travel preferences. Viet Nam emerged as one of the most searched destinations, with travelers eager to explore its rich culture, stunning landscapes, and growing range of travel experiences.

Top Destinations in Viet Nam to Explore

According to Traveloka’s data, several cities and regions in Viet Nam have captured the interest of travelers:
  • Ho Chi Minh City
  • Hanoi
  • Da Nang
  • Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province)
  • Hue

These cities and regions continue to be the top domestic choices, reflecting the diverse attractions that Viet Nam offers. Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi are bustling urban centers filled with history, culture, and modern amenities. Meanwhile, places like Da Nang and Hue showcase Viet Nam’s vibrant heritage, stunning temples, and beautiful landscapes, making them top choices for both local and international visitors.

The Rise of Resort Tourism and Staycations

A key takeaway from the EPIC Sale campaign is the increasing interest in resort tourism and staycations. Many travelers are seeking nearby getaways for long weekends or short trips, and Viet Nam’s coastal resorts and mountain retreats fit the bill perfectly. Locations such as Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, and Da Lat are particularly popular, with Vietnamese tourists flocking to these spots for family-friendly activities, local cuisine, and relaxing stays in nature.

For many, these destinations offer the perfect mix of convenience and relaxation, making them ideal for 3-day, 2-night trips. The demand for short and flexible vacations is a growing trend in the post-pandemic era, where travelers prioritize comfort and cost-effectiveness. The variety of accommodation options, from hotels to villas, makes it easy to find the perfect stay for every budget and travel style.

Mindful Travel and the Appeal of Viet Nam’s Natural Beauty

The trend toward mindful travel is also on the rise, with many people seeking to reconnect with nature and explore cultural sites. Viet Nam, with its breathtaking landscapes—from its famous Halong Bay to the terraced rice fields of Sapa—is an ideal destination for those looking to escape into nature. The country’s growing appeal among tourists also comes from its emerging sustainable tourism initiatives, which encourage responsible travel and respect for local communities and environments.

A Bright Future for Viet Nam’s Tourism Industry

The recent surge in tourism interest comes at a time when Viet Nam’s tourism sector is experiencing impressive growth. In the first four months of 2025 alone, nearly 7.7 million international visitors traveled to Viet Nam, marking a 23% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. With a goal to attract 22-23 million international tourists this year, Viet Nam is poised to surpass pre-pandemic tourism levels and become a key player in the global travel market.

The growing interest in Viet Nam is reflective of the country’s commitment to improving its infrastructure, developing its tourism products, and offering travelers a diverse range of experiences. Whether you are seeking cultural exploration, adventure, or a peaceful beach retreat, Viet Nam is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after destinations in Asia.

As construction begins, all eyes will be on the progress of the development, which is expected to be a game-changer for the region, attracting affluent tourists and contributing to the economic dynamism of Hung Yen province and the surrounding areas. Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge: A New Model for Low-Plastic Tourism in Central Vietnam

Launch of Thanh Toan tiled-roof bridge low-plastic tourism site
A Landmark Initiative for Sustainable Tourism

In a bid to combat plastic pollution and promote environmental sustainability, Vietnam has unveiled a significant initiative at one of its most cherished cultural landmarks – the Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge. The launch of this low-plastic tourism site marks a significant step in the fight to reduce waste while preserving the rich cultural heritage of the region. Set against the backdrop of traditional Vietnamese rural life, this project is an exciting development for both local communities and tourists alike.

Preserving Tradition While Protecting the Environment

The Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge is not only a symbol of the region’s architectural history but also a community tourism destination where visitors can experience the essence of rural Vietnam. The bridge, with its centuries-old wooden structure covered by traditional tiles, stands as a testament to the country's cultural identity. Surrounding the bridge is an Agricultural Tool Exhibition House, where local farming tools are displayed, alongside a rustic countryside market where visitors can shop for handmade goods.

The low-plastic tourism site initiative aims to balance the preservation of this iconic location with the urgent need for environmental protection. The project highlights the importance of reducing plastic waste, a growing concern that threatens both the environment and the region’s cultural heritage. By making Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge a model site for plastic reduction, the community sets an example for other tourism destinations in Vietnam and beyond.

Community Participation in the Plastic Reduction Movement

A pivotal aspect of the initiative is the collaboration with local businesses and tourism establishments to implement plastic reduction measures. The project, led by the Urban Plastic Reduction in Central Vietnam Project (TVA) in coordination with local authorities, has worked closely with five local businesses to pilot eco-friendly practices. These businesses include:

  • Thanh Toan Agricultural Tool Exhibition House

  • Van The Garden Experience Site

  • Van Thanh Garden Experience Site

  • Nguyen Thi Kiem’s Conical Hat Facility

  • Truong Thi Phuong’s Xuka Homestay

These establishments have committed to reducing plastic usage by replacing single-use plastic bottles with reusable water containers, encouraging tourists to refill their water bottles, and swapping plastic bags and disposable plastic items for eco-friendly alternatives. The adoption of these measures reflects the commitment of the local community to contribute positively to the global sustainability movement.

Innovative Solutions for Reducing Plastic Waste

The TVA Project has provided essential resources to support the transition towards a low-plastic environment. These include:

  • Water purifiers for tourists to refill their bottles

  • Glass water bottles and glass cups

  • Ceramic containers for personal care products like shampoo and shower gel

  • Waste-sorting bins and clear signage to guide visitors on proper waste disposal

These efforts not only reduce plastic waste but also raise awareness among tourists about the importance of sustainable practices. With these tangible changes, Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge is becoming a prime example of how tourism can be both culturally enriching and environmentally responsible.

A Strong Foundation for Future Growth

The launch of the low-plastic tourism site is just the beginning. While some businesses have already embraced the model, others are expected to follow suit as the project expands. The success of the pioneering establishments will serve as a strong foundation for future growth, encouraging other local tourism operators to join the movement and adopt plastic reduction practices.

The Thuy Thanh Commune People's Committee and the Department of Tourism have shown unwavering support for the project, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining a green, sustainable tourism destination. This initiative not only enhances the visitor experience but also ensures that the region’s rich heritage and natural beauty are preserved for future generations.

Low-Plastic Tour Programs and Future Collaboration

As part of the initiative, Hue Tourism College has partnered with local travel companies to develop low-plastic tour programs that introduce visitors to the eco-friendly practices being implemented at Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge. These programs not only offer tourists a unique experience but also highlight the importance of sustainable tourism in preserving the environment.

The TVA Project, which is funded by WWF-Norway (through WWF-Vietnam), aims to protect the rivers, wetlands, and coastal ecosystems of Hue City from plastic pollution. Spanning five years from 2021 to 2025, the project represents a long-term commitment to environmental sustainability in the region.

A Step Toward a Greener Future for Vietnamese Tourism

The Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge low-plastic tourism site marks a key milestone in Vietnam’s journey towards sustainable tourism. By combining cultural preservation with environmental responsibility, this project demonstrates how communities, businesses, and tourists can work together to protect the planet while celebrating its rich heritage.

For travelers looking to explore Vietnam’s beauty while supporting sustainable practices, Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge offers an inspiring example of how tourism can play a role in creating a greener future.

Vietnam Ranks 7th Globally in Top Growth by Destination Country: A Rising Star in Global Tourism

Vietnam Emerges as a Global Tourism Powerhouse

Vietnam is gaining global recognition as one of the top emerging destinations in tourism, securing the 7th position in the world for growth in destination searches, according to Google Destination Insights. This remarkable achievement underscores the country's growing appeal among international travelers, who are increasingly attracted to Vietnam's diverse offerings and vibrant culture.

With an open visa policy, a rich array of high-quality tourism products, and the expansion of international air routes, Vietnam is quickly climbing the ranks of global travel destinations. The country now stands out as the only Southeast Asian nation among the top 10 in growth, surpassing neighboring tourism giants such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Vietnam's Strong Growth in Tourism Searches

The surge in interest is evident, with international searches for tourist accommodations in Vietnam showing a growth rate of 10%-25% since the beginning of 2025. This increase places Vietnam in the 7th position globally, marking a significant rise in the country's visibility as a top choice for travelers. These figures are a testament to the country's vibrant tourism industry, which continues to attract a diverse range of international visitors.

Among Southeast Asian countries, Vietnam leads the way, surpassing competitors like the Philippines (#18), Singapore (#25), Thailand (#36), Indonesia (#37), and Malaysia (#39). The rise in search volumes reflects a larger trend, one that is likely to continue as the country solidifies its position on the world tourism map.

The Most Searched Cities in Vietnam by Global Travelers

Vietnam’s most sought-after destinations continue to showcase the country’s diverse appeal. According to the latest data, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, and Hue are among the top 10 most searched Vietnamese cities by international tourists.

The growth in search volume for these cities is significant, with Vung Tau and Ninh Binh experiencing the highest search volume increases, over 75%, highlighting their rising popularity among travelers. From bustling urban hubs to serene coastal towns and cultural heritage sites, Vietnam offers a rich tapestry of experiences to suit all types of travelers.

Key Factors Driving Vietnam’s Appeal

Several factors are driving Vietnam’s rise in global tourism. Among the most compelling are the country’s diverse tourism offerings. From cultural and nature-based experiences to emerging products like agricultural tourism, rail journeys, wellness tourism, and sports tourism, Vietnam continues to diversify its tourism portfolio. This variety ensures that Vietnam appeals to a broad spectrum of travelers, from adventure-seekers to those looking for relaxation and cultural immersion.

The country’s rapid improvements in tourism infrastructure also play a significant role in its growth. Investments in air, road, and sea transport are making it easier for visitors to explore the country, while the expansion of direct flights connecting major global cities to Vietnam has made travel more accessible than ever.

Additionally, Vietnam’s open visa policies have proven to be a game-changer. The flexibility and ease of travel are helping to attract international visitors who might otherwise face bureaucratic barriers. The country's stable security and public order also provide peace of mind for tourists, making it an attractive destination for both first-time visitors and repeat travelers.

Marketing and Promotion Efforts Amplify Vietnam’s Global Reach

Vietnam’s tourism sector is actively working to raise the country’s profile through targeted marketing campaigns. One notable initiative is the ongoing tourism roadshow in France, Italy, and Switzerland from May 3–14, organized by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism. These efforts are key to building Vietnam’s tourism brand in important source markets and ensuring sustained growth in visitor numbers.

The positive trends are already evident, as Vietnam welcomed over 7.6 million international arrivals in the first four months of 2025. This represents a 23.8% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. With such growth, the country is well on track to meet its ambitious target of 22-23 million international visitors for the year, contributing to a GDP growth target of 8% set by the Vietnamese government.

Vietnam's Bright Future in Global Tourism

Vietnam's rise as a global tourism destination is an exciting story of progress and promise. The country’s 7th place ranking in terms of growth is a clear indicator of its potential to become one of the world’s top travel hotspots. As the government continues to prioritize tourism development, and with global interest continuing to grow, Vietnam is poised for even greater success in the years to come.

Whether it’s the cultural richness, the diverse landscapes, or the warm hospitality, Vietnam offers something for everyone, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking adventure, relaxation, and everything in between.

A New Horizon at Sun World Ba Na Hills

Sun World Ba Na Hills Unveils New Cable Car Line

On April 30, Sun World Ba Na Hills officially launched its much-anticipated 8th cable car line, marking a significant milestone in the development of the popular resort complex. This new addition is not only a physical upgrade to the site but also a carefully crafted tribute to the spirit of Vietnam, offering visitors an enriched experience of the “fairyland realm” that Ba Na Hills is known for. A Cultural Journey Begins

As visitors embark on this newly inaugurated cable car line, they are instantly greeted by the Hoi An 2 Station, which sets the tone for the entire journey. Designed to reflect the vibrant and festive spirit of Vietnam, this station pays homage to the traditional lion dance, a cultural symbol of joy, prosperity, and celebration. In Vietnamese folklore, the lion is not just a mythical creature but a bringer of luck, vitality, and new beginnings.

The architectural design of the station beautifully integrates these cultural elements, creating a dynamic "cultural stage" where visitors can immerse themselves in the rich heritage of Vietnam right from the start of their journey. As guests board the cable car, they are enveloped in the colors and energy of this vibrant station, ensuring that their adventure begins with excitement and anticipation.

A Spectacular Aerial Experience

The new cable car line, with its fleet of 153 cabins, offers a transport capacity of 3,000 guests per hour, significantly reducing wait times and increasing the throughput of visitors during peak seasons. But the journey is not just about convenience—it’s about the experience. As the cable cars glide over vast, pristine forests and mist-shrouded valleys, passengers are treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the Ba Na Mountains. The stunning natural beauty below, coupled with the feeling of soaring above the landscape, makes this a truly unforgettable ride.

The journey culminates at the Moon Kingdom Station, a destination that is as captivating as the journey itself. This station, inspired by the iconic Vietnamese conical hat, is a striking architectural masterpiece. Five towering spires rise into the sky, echoing the grace of the Moon Castle nearby. As guests step inside, they are greeted by a space adorned with thousands of terracotta bricks, reminiscent of traditional brick kilns that were once integral to Vietnamese life. The atmosphere inside is both modern and nostalgic, blending old-world charm with contemporary design in perfect harmony.

Vietnam’s National Reunification: A Foundation for Remarkable Development

Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands
to Viet Nam Kees van Baar
A Historic Milestone for Vietnam's Growth

Vietnam’s national reunification on April 30, 1975, marked the end of a long and painful chapter in the country’s history and set the stage for a new era of peace, prosperity, and development. This milestone, celebrated as the liberation of the South and the unification of the nation, was not only a momentous event in Vietnam’s history but also a turning point for the country’s growth on the global stage. Today, as Vietnam celebrates the 50th anniversary of reunification, the world takes notice of its extraordinary transformation—from a war-torn nation to one of the most dynamic and forward-looking economies in Southeast Asia.

Reflections from International Partners

In a recent interview, Kees van Baar, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam, shared his perspective on this remarkable journey. Having witnessed firsthand Vietnam’s evolution, van Baar praised the resilience and determination of the Vietnamese people, acknowledging the significant role that peace and stability have played in the country’s development.

“It is truly an honor to witness the transformation of Vietnam into a vibrant, peaceful, and forward-looking country,” van Baar said. “Having seen the challenges that many countries face, including conflict, I deeply appreciate the value of peace, freedom, and prosperity—and how important it is to safeguard these values.”

The Netherlands, a long-standing partner of Vietnam, has been a witness to the country's progress and is a proud supporter of its ambitions for a high-tech, green, and inclusive economy. The diplomatic ties between the two nations, which started with development cooperation, have evolved into a robust partnership encompassing trade, investment, and innovation.

Vietnam’s Growing Global Standing

The Netherlands has grown to become Vietnam's largest European trading and investment partner, with a strategic partnership that reflects shared values such as respect for the international rule of law, multilateralism, and free trade. The collaboration between the two nations, which brings together governments, businesses, and knowledge institutions, is a model for effective international partnerships. This bond is often referred to as the Dutch Diamond, symbolizing the depth of trust and mutual respect that has characterized their relationship over the past several decades.

“It is a testament to Vietnam's determination and the strength of its people,” Ambassador van Baar remarked. “Vietnam has not only rebuilt itself but has also grown into a leader in the region, with a bright future ahead. The Netherlands is honored to stand alongside Vietnam, as a friend and partner, as the country continues its journey of growth and development.”

Vietnam's Transformation Over 50 Years

Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam Gillian Bird
Gillian Bird, the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, also commended Vietnam’s progress during the 50th-anniversary commemorations. Reflecting on the country’s remarkable transformation, Bird noted that Vietnam has become one of the fastest-growing economies in the region and an increasingly important global manufacturing hub.

"This moment gives us the opportunity to look back on how far Vietnam has come,” Bird said. “The past 50 years have seen this country transform into an economic powerhouse, and its story is a reflection of the determination, vision, and hard work of its people."

Australia has been a trusted partner of Vietnam since 1973, when diplomatic ties were first established. Over the decades, the relationship between the two nations has evolved into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, highlighting shared values and mutual interests. The two countries have built strong ties in various areas, from trade to education, development assistance, and beyond.

The Path Ahead: Vietnam's Continued Growth

Vietnam’s journey over the past 50 years is a powerful reminder of the importance of peace and national unity in achieving long-term prosperity. With the country’s economic transformation and its growing prominence on the global stage, the future looks bright for Vietnam. As it continues to foster international partnerships, improve its infrastructure, and support sustainable development, Vietnam’s remarkable progress will inspire countries around the world.

The international community, including nations like the Netherlands and Australia, has been instrumental in supporting Vietnam’s rise. Today, Vietnam stands not only as a symbol of resilience but also as an example of what can be achieved through unity, determination, and a shared vision for the future.

Vietnam’s Role in Global Prosperity

As Vietnam continues to develop, its potential to become a leading player in the global economy is clear. The country’s strength lies in its ability to combine its rich cultural heritage with modern innovation, building a future that is both sustainable and inclusive.

As Vietnam celebrates its reunification and the successes of the past 50 years, it’s clear that the country is poised for an even more remarkable future. The next chapter in Vietnam’s story promises to be one of continued growth, stronger international partnerships, and a commitment to building a better world for future generations.
