The Events Group: Creating Unforgettable Corporate Events Across New Zealand

The Events Group
When a successful corporate event comes together, guests often see the excitement, creativity and polished presentation. What they do not always see is the planning, coordination and attention to detail behind the scenes.

That is where The Events Group comes into its own.

Based in Auckland, New Zealand, The Events Group is an experienced corporate event and team building specialist with more than 30 years in the events industry. From conferences and gala dinners to team building, event styling and innovative corporate experiences, the company creates events designed to bring people together and leave lasting memories.

The Events Group was one of the featured exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, New Zealand's premier business events trade show, held at the New Zealand International Convention Centre in Auckland from 17 to 18 June 2026.

More Than Three Decades Of Event Experience

The story of The Events Group began in the 1990s, originally operating as MotivAction and specialising in outdoor team building and innovative experiences.

The company later evolved into The Events Group, reflecting its expanding range of event services. It has since created thousands of experiences, with its current website noting more than 5,000 visions brought to life. The business remains family owned and focused on creating personalised events rather than relying on standard packages.

This depth of experience is valuable for organisations planning events where every detail matters.

Whether the objective is to motivate employees, celebrate achievements, launch a product or bring an international team together, The Events Group works with clients to understand their objectives, budget and vision before developing the event.

A Complete Corporate Event Solution

The Events Group
One of the company's strengths is its ability to bring several elements of event production together.

The Events Group provides three principal areas of service: event management, event styling and team building. Its event management service can cover strategic planning, venue selection, logistics, budget management, supplier coordination, on-site execution and post-event evaluation.

For businesses, having these services managed by one experienced team can simplify the planning process and provide greater consistency throughout an event.

The company works across conferences and seminars, award celebrations, gala dinners, product launches, brand activations, corporate family days, virtual events and hybrid experiences.

Team Building With A Difference

Team building is a major part of The Events Group's offering.

Rather than treating team building as simply a day away from the office, the company creates activities designed to encourage communication, collaboration, morale and stronger relationships between colleagues.

Its extensive menu of experiences includes The Amazing GPS Race, Spy School, The Zoo Hunt, Corporate Games, Around the World, Survivor, Lip Sync Battle, Flavours of Auckland and numerous other activities.

The company also emphasises the importance of tailoring activities to different personalities and workplace environments.

This approach is particularly relevant for modern organisations where teams can include a mixture of personalities, roles, cultures and working styles.

Bringing Creativity Into Event Styling

The Events Group
A successful event is not only about what happens during the program. The environment also helps establish the mood.

The Events Group's event styling specialists can create themes ranging from sophisticated corporate settings to more elaborate themed celebrations. This creative capability allows an event to have a strong visual identity and helps transform ordinary spaces into memorable environments.

For conferences, gala dinners, award ceremonies and corporate celebrations, thoughtful styling can turn an event from functional into memorable.

The Events Group At MEETINGS 2026

The Events Group at MEETINGS 2026
MEETINGS 2026 was an important gathering for New Zealand's business events industry, bringing buyers and suppliers together for two days of appointments, networking and business opportunities.

The 2026 event attracted record participation, with more than 700 qualified buyers and over 260 exhibitors representing 19 regions, according to post-event reporting.

The Events Group was among the exhibitors featured in the official MEETINGS 2026 supplier directory.

Its participation was particularly fitting because the company specialises in precisely the kind of experiences that business events professionals seek when planning conferences, incentives, corporate celebrations and team programs.

MEETINGS also concluded with the Electric Garden celebration at NZICC, with The Events Group among the New Zealand event production and design specialists involved in bringing the finale to life alongside Auckland Convention Bureau, Flock Events, The Production Agency, NZICC and Hire Plants.

Creating Events That People Remember

The Events Group's philosophy is centred on people.

The company says its purpose is to create exceptional corporate events and team building experiences that leave a lasting impression. Its values include being people focused, creatively driven, committed to quality and making things happen.

That people-first approach is increasingly important in business events.

A conference can deliver valuable information, but the experiences surrounding the formal program can help delegates connect, collaborate and remember the occasion.

A well-designed team activity can break down barriers. A carefully styled gala dinner can provide an exciting celebration. A creative corporate event can give employees something to talk about long after they return to work.

Auckland Expertise With A National Outlook

The Events Group
Based in Albany, Auckland, The Events Group is ideally positioned within one of New Zealand's leading business events destinations.

Auckland provides a diverse choice of venues, accommodation, entertainment, dining and activities, making it an attractive location for conferences, incentive programs and corporate events.

The Events Group's combination of event management, styling and team building means clients can engage one specialist partner for multiple aspects of their event.

For companies searching for corporate event planners in Auckland, team building activities in New Zealand or professional event management services, The Events Group offers experience backed by decades of delivering events.

The Events Group: Turning Ideas Into Experiences

The best events rarely happen by accident.

They are created through imagination, careful planning, experienced people and an understanding of what an audience or team needs.

The Events Group has spent more than three decades bringing those elements together. From its beginnings in outdoor team building to today's comprehensive corporate event services, the company has continued to evolve with the changing needs of New Zealand businesses.

The Events Group
Its appearance as one of the featured exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026 provided another opportunity for the business events industry to discover its creative approach to conferences, celebrations, team building and corporate experiences.

For organisations wanting an event that goes beyond the ordinary, The Events Group demonstrates how thoughtful planning and creativity can transform an idea into an experience people remember.

Te Pae Christchurch: A World-Class Convention Centre at the Heart of Ōtautahi

Te Pae Christchurch
A Landmark Venue for New Zealand Business Events

In the heart of Christchurch, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre has established itself as one of New Zealand's leading destinations for conferences, conventions, exhibitions, meetings, banquets and major events.

Located on Oxford Terrace beside the Ōtākaro Avon River, Te Pae combines contemporary architecture, flexible event spaces and a strong sense of Canterbury identity. Its central location places delegates within easy walking distance of hotels, restaurants, retail, arts and entertainment, while Christchurch International Airport is approximately 15 kilometres away.

Te Pae was one of the exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, where its team showcased Christchurch as a premier destination for conferences and business events. The venue was represented on stand 168 alongside other Christchurch and Canterbury operators.

Flexible Spaces for Events of Every Scale

Designed as Christchurch's gathering place, Te Pae offers an impressive range of spaces capable of hosting events from intimate meetings through to major international conferences.

The venue features 24 meeting rooms, a tiered auditorium seating up to 1,364 people, flexible exhibition facilities and a riverside banquet space overlooking the Ōtākaro Avon River. Its exhibition hall provides approximately 2,800 square metres of space and can be divided into separate areas to accommodate different event formats.

This flexibility allows organisers to bring conferences, trade exhibitions, keynote presentations, networking functions, gala dinners and entertainment together under one roof.

A Venue Designed Around the Delegate Experience

Te Pae Christchurch
Te Pae's location is one of its major advantages. Delegates can step outside the convention centre and explore central Christchurch, with accommodation, restaurants, cafés, galleries, shops and attractions nearby.

The venue also works closely with Christchurch and Canterbury suppliers to incorporate local cultural welcomes, experiences, entertainment, lighting, acoustic design and other services into events. This enables organisers to create programmes that showcase the destination rather than simply providing a place to meet.

Local Flavours and Modern Event Technology

Food is an important part of the Te Pae experience, with menus inspired by Canterbury produce and New Zealand ingredients. The venue also provides professional audiovisual and technology services, exhibition support and dedicated event planning assistance.

Its experienced events team can help with everything from initial planning and logistics through to security, crowd management and event delivery, giving organisers access to specialist knowledge throughout the planning process.

A Standout Christchurch Conference Venue

Te Pae Christchurch
Te Pae Christchurch is particularly well suited to organisers searching for a modern conference centre in Christchurch, a New Zealand convention venue, a large exhibition venue or a distinctive location for corporate events.

Its appearance at MEETINGS 2026 highlighted the venue's continuing role in New Zealand's business events sector. Te Pae was also recognised at the 2026 tradeshow with the Best Regional Stand award, adding another achievement to its growing profile.

For international delegates, Te Pae provides a convenient gateway to Christchurch and the wider South Island, combining sophisticated event infrastructure with opportunities to experience Canterbury's landscapes, food, culture and attractions.

Whether hosting an international congress, corporate conference, trade exhibition, gala dinner or business meeting, Te Pae Christchurch offers an impressive combination of scale, flexibility, location and local character.

The Entertainment Company: Bringing Extraordinary Entertainment to New Zealand Business Events

The Entertainment Company
When people remember a great event, they often remember how it made them feel. The excitement of a spectacular performance, the energy of live music, the surprise of an unexpected act or the atmosphere created when talented performers take the stage can turn an ordinary gathering into an unforgettable occasion.

That is the philosophy behind The Entertainment Company, a Christchurch-based specialist providing professional entertainment for corporate events, conferences, gala dinners, awards evenings, incentive programmes and special celebrations across New Zealand.

The Entertainment Company was one of the featured exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, where it showcased its ability to create bespoke entertainment experiences for the New Zealand business events industry.

Entertainment Designed To Make An Impact

The Entertainment Company has developed a diverse collection of entertainment options designed to suit different event styles, audiences and venues.

Its performers include dancers, singers, live musicians, bands, meet-and-greet performers, aerialists and specialist acts. This allows event organisers to select entertainment that complements their theme rather than simply adding a standard performance to the programme.

For a sophisticated gala dinner, elegant dancers or aerial performers can create a memorable opening. For a corporate celebration, a live band can transform the atmosphere and encourage guests to relax and enjoy themselves.

The company also provides entertainment for brand activations, where creating an immediate visual impression can help attract attention and engage guests.

Creating Memorable Corporate Experiences

The Entertainment Company
Business events are no longer simply about presentations and networking. Today's conferences and corporate functions increasingly focus on creating experiences that delegates will remember.

Entertainment can play an important role in achieving that objective.

The Entertainment Company specialises in tailoring performances to the occasion, helping event organisers select entertainment that reflects the personality, theme and objectives of an event.

For conferences, entertainment can provide an energetic way to open or close a programme. At an awards evening, performers can help create a sense of occasion. At an incentive event, spectacular entertainment can become one of the highlights of the entire experience.

Aerial Performances That Take Events Higher

Among the company's distinctive offerings are aerial performances designed to provide a spectacular visual experience.

Its aerialists perform routines using apparatus including Duo Lyra and Floating Pole, while its Chandelier Lyra is promoted as a unique performance concept in New Zealand.

These performances can be particularly effective at gala dinners and luxury events where organisers want something visually impressive without relying solely on traditional stage entertainment.

Aerial entertainment can transform the atmosphere of a venue, providing guests with a performance they are unlikely to forget.

Live Music For Every Occasion

The Entertainment Company
Music remains one of the most effective ways to establish the atmosphere of an event.

The Entertainment Company offers solo performers, duos and full bands, with entertainment ranging from smooth background music and jazz through to energetic live performances designed to get guests involved.

For corporate event planners, having different musical options available means entertainment can be matched to different stages of an event.

A vocalist or acoustic performer can provide an elegant atmosphere during dinner, while a full band can create the energy needed for the final part of an evening.

Unique Entertainment And LED Experiences

The company also offers specialty entertainment for organisers looking for something beyond conventional live performance.

Its LED Poi performance combines movement, light and visual effects and can incorporate brand colours, logos or custom messages. This creates opportunities for businesses to incorporate their identity directly into an entertainment experience.

For product launches, corporate celebrations and brand activations, this type of entertainment can help create a strong visual identity and memorable guest experience.

The Entertainment Company also promotes meet-and-greet performers, dancers and showgirls who can welcome guests and create an immediate sense of occasion from the moment attendees arrive.

The Entertainment Company At MEETINGS 2026

The Entertainment Company
MEETINGS 2026 brought together New Zealand's business events community at the New Zealand International Convention Centre in Auckland on 17 and 18 June 2026.

The Entertainment Company was one of the featured exhibitors at the event, presenting its range of professional entertainment services to event professionals and hosted buyers.

Its participation was a natural fit for MEETINGS, where conference organisers, incentive specialists, event agencies and corporate planners were looking for new ideas and suppliers capable of creating memorable experiences.

With its combination of live music, dancers, aerialists, specialty performances and customised entertainment, The Entertainment Company demonstrated how entertainment can become an integral part of a successful business event rather than simply an addition to the programme.

Entertainment With A New Zealand Flair

Based in Christchurch, The Entertainment Company brings professional performers and creative concepts to events throughout New Zealand.

Its focus on bespoke entertainment is particularly valuable for international conferences and incentive programmes, where organisers want delegates to experience something distinctive during their time in New Zealand.

For overseas visitors, an exceptional performance can become part of their overall destination experience. It can provide a memorable evening after a conference, add excitement to a gala dinner or create a spectacular finale to an incentive programme.

Turning Events Into Unforgettable Occasions

The Entertainment Company
The most successful business events combine great venues, hospitality, networking and experiences that people remember.

The Entertainment Company understands that entertainment has the power to bring all those elements together.

Whether the requirement is a sophisticated performance for an awards evening, live music for a corporate celebration, aerial entertainment for a gala dinner, or a unique performance for a brand activation, the company provides event planners with a broad range of creative possibilities.

Its appearance at MEETINGS 2026 highlighted the important role professional entertainment plays within New Zealand's growing business events sector.

For conference organisers, corporate businesses, incentive planners and event professionals searching for entertainment in New Zealand, The Entertainment Company offers an opportunity to create something more than an event.

It creates an experience.

Te Puna Mahara: Cromwell’s New Events Destination Bringing Central Otago Together

Te Puna Mahara | Cromwell Memorial Events
A New Landmark for Events in Cromwell

Set beside Lake Dunstan in the heart of Central Otago, Te Puna Mahara | Cromwell Memorial Events Centre is opening a new chapter for conferences, performances, community gatherings and business events in one of New Zealand’s most scenic regions.

The purpose-built venue has been created as a contemporary gathering place while retaining the memorial heritage of the original Cromwell Memorial Hall. The name Te Puna Mahara can be translated as a repository of memories or centre of remembrance, reflecting the importance of history, culture and community to the facility.

Te Puna Mahara was one of the exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, New Zealand’s leading business events tradeshow, where it presented its new venue to conference planners, professional organisers and business events buyers.

A Flexible Venue for Conferences and Events

At the centre of Te Puna Mahara is a 400-seat auditorium designed for conferences, theatre productions, concerts, presentations, awards and major community events. The retractable tiered seating allows the space to be quickly transformed for different event formats, including banquet-style functions. The auditorium can accommodate up to 400 seated guests, 500 standing guests or 220 guests in a banquet configuration.

Alongside the main auditorium are flexible meeting and conference rooms, including spaces suitable for smaller gatherings and events of up to 120 people. Some spaces provide access to an outdoor terrace and views towards the Kawarau River, adding a distinctive Central Otago setting to business occasions.

For event organisers, the venue offers dedicated operational staff, modern technology, in-house catering and accessibility features, providing an integrated environment for conferences, meetings and special events.

More Than a Conference Centre

Te Puna Mahara | Cromwell Memorial Events
Te Puna Mahara has been designed as a multi-purpose destination rather than simply a meeting venue. The facility incorporates a cinema, dance studio, café and bar, museum and retail areas, creating opportunities for visitors and delegates to combine business with entertainment, culture and hospitality.

Te Huika Wai – Cromwell Museum is also part of the development. The museum provides a permanent home for the area's stories and heritage, further strengthening Te Puna Mahara's role as a cultural destination for Central Otago.

For conference organisers, the combination of meeting facilities, cultural attractions, food and entertainment creates possibilities for delegate programmes that extend beyond the conference room.

Central Otago as an Events Destination

Cromwell's location makes Te Puna Mahara an attractive option for business events seeking a regional New Zealand experience. Surrounded by Central Otago's mountains, vineyards, orchards and lakes, Cromwell offers a distinctive destination environment while remaining within easy reach of Queenstown.

The new events centre adds another important piece to the region's growing business events infrastructure and provides a modern venue capable of hosting conferences, incentives, performances, celebrations and community events.

A New Chapter After MEETINGS 2026

Te Puna Mahara | Cromwell Memorial Events
The appearance of Te Puna Mahara at MEETINGS 2026 came at an important time, with the new Cromwell venue preparing to welcome visitors and events. BEIA's MEETINGS 2026 exhibitor directory confirms Te Puna Mahara among the participating venues, placing the facility in front of New Zealand and international business events professionals.

With its combination of modern event facilities, Central Otago location, cultural experiences and flexible spaces, Te Puna Mahara is well positioned to become a significant new venue for business events and tourism in the South Island.

Team Up Events: Transforming Team Building into Memorable Experiences Across New Zealand

Team Up Events
Building Stronger Teams Through Challenge, Connection and Fun

In today's competitive business environment, successful organisations understand that strong teams do not happen by accident. They are developed through communication, collaboration, trust and shared experiences. Team Up Events has built its reputation around bringing these elements together through creative and purposeful corporate team building experiences across New Zealand.

Team Up Events is a New Zealand owned and operated team building and events company offering programmes nationwide, specialising in activities, attractions and team building and training. Its programmes are designed to energise, motivate and strengthen teams while being tailored around each organisation's objectives.

Team Building with a Purpose

Team Up Events takes a personalised approach rather than relying on a single formula for every organisation. Its team works with clients to design or tailor programmes around the outcomes they want to achieve.

The company offers three broad areas of experiences: team bonding, team building and team development. Programmes include The Amazing Race, Survivor, Beat the Box, The Big Picture, Build a Bike, Community Challenge, Peak Performance, The Situation Room and Infinite Loop.

These activities can encourage communication, creative thinking, problem solving, strategic thinking, collaboration and stronger team dynamics, turning an enjoyable event into an experience with relevance back in the workplace.

Corporate Team Building Anywhere in New Zealand

Team Up Events
One of Team Up Events' advantages for conference and incentive planners is its nationwide reach. The company has teams across Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown, and can deliver programmes at offices, conference venues, parks, beaches or other locations selected by clients.

For organisers planning a conference in Auckland, a corporate retreat in Queenstown or an incentive programme in another New Zealand destination, Team Up Events can help create an activity that complements the wider business event.

The Auckland team can also assist organisers with venue and location arrangements, drawing on local relationships and knowledge to help coordinate an experience from beginning to end.

Internationally Proven Experiences

Team Up Events is the exclusive New Zealand partner for Catalyst Global, giving its clients access to internationally developed team building programmes while retaining a strong local focus. Catalyst describes Team Up Events as a provider of corporate and community event services throughout New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.

This combination of international programme expertise and local delivery gives conference organisers a broad selection of experiences that can be adapted to different group sizes, objectives and locations.

Team Building That Gives Back

Team Up Events
Social responsibility is another important part of the Team Up Events philosophy. The company is a lifetime partner of B1G1, a global business-for-good initiative, and incorporates charitable giving into events it delivers throughout New Zealand.

Activities such as Build a Bike and Community Challenge can therefore combine teamwork with a positive contribution, creating experiences that connect delegates not only with one another but also with the wider community.

A Proud MEETINGS 2026 Exhibitor

Team Up Events was one of the exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, New Zealand's major business events tradeshow. The company's participation provided conference and incentive planners with an opportunity to discover innovative team building solutions for corporate groups visiting New Zealand.

Technical Event Solutions: Powering Extraordinary Events Across New Zealand

Technical Event Solutions
Where Technology Meets the Art of Exceptional Events

Behind every successful conference, gala dinner, concert, festival or corporate event is a technical production team making sure everything looks, sounds and performs exactly as planned. In New Zealand, Technical Event Solutions is helping event organisers achieve that with integrated lighting, audio, audiovisual, staging, rigging and broadcast services.

Technical Event Solutions Ltd, known as TES, is a full-service event production company operating across Aotearoa New Zealand. Formed in 2017, the company has grown from providing sound and lighting for smaller events into a nationwide technical production partner for conferences, corporate events, theatre productions, concerts, festivals, weddings and hybrid events. BEIA lists TES as a Silver member and nationwide specialist in AV, sound, lighting and technical services.

A Complete Event Production Partner

TES takes an integrated approach to event production, bringing specialist people, equipment and technical expertise together under one team. Its services include professional audio, LED screens, projectors, cameras, lighting, staging, rigging, live streaming, broadcast and event effects.

For conference and business event organisers, this can mean one experienced production partner overseeing the technical requirements from planning and design through to installation and live operation.

The company's services can be scaled from smaller meetings and presentations to major productions requiring sophisticated sound systems, large LED displays, complex lighting rigs, multiple cameras and broadcast capabilities.

Technology for Conferences and Business Events

Technical Event Solutions
Modern conferences increasingly need more than a microphone and projector. Delegates may be joining remotely, presentations may require multiple screens, and organisers expect polished production that keeps audiences engaged.

TES provides live streaming and hybrid event solutions, from straightforward single-camera streams to complex multi-camera deployments. Its broadcast division also provides professional cameras, broadcast systems and crews for events throughout New Zealand.

Its work at PCOA 2025 at Te Pae Christchurch demonstrates the scale of its conference capability, with TES delivering technical production across breakout rooms, an auditorium, exhibition areas and a dedicated silent session space, including audio, video, staging, IMAG and broadcast recording.

Lighting, Sound, Staging and Visual Impact

Lighting can transform a venue, while professionally engineered sound ensures that every presentation, performance and announcement reaches the audience clearly.

TES offers lighting systems ranging from straightforward room washes to sophisticated moving-head rigs and designed lighting productions. Its staging and rigging services include performance stages, catwalks, truss grids and other event structures.

For major productions, the company can also coordinate special effects including haze, smoke, low fog, lasers, CO2, confetti and flame effects, subject to appropriate event requirements and approvals.

A Proud MEETINGS 2026 Exhibitor

Technical Event Solutions
Technical Event Solutions was one of the exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, New Zealand's premier business events tradeshow, held in Auckland from 17 to 18 June 2026 at the New Zealand International Convention Centre. The BEIA MEETINGS 2026 exhibitor directory lists TES as a nationwide AV, sound, lighting and technical supplier.

Its presence at MEETINGS provided an opportunity for conference organisers, professional event planners and business events buyers to connect with a specialist capable of delivering complete technical production solutions across New Zealand.

Technical Expertise with a Nationwide Reach

With bases in Christchurch and Auckland, TES combines technical specialists with an extensive inventory of professional production equipment. Following its acquisition of Auckland-based AV Events in 2025, the group expanded its nationwide capability and strengthened its ability to deliver consistent production services across New Zealand.

For organisers planning a conference, corporate function, live performance, hybrid event or large-scale celebration, Technical Event Solutions offers a comprehensive approach where sound, lighting, vision, staging and production work together as one seamless experience.

The Hotel Britomart: My Stylish Auckland Retreat After MEETINGS 2026

The Hotel Britomart
After the busy days, meetings and networking of MEETINGS 2026, I was looking forward to slowing the pace before heading back across the Tasman to Australia.

My choice for that final Auckland stay was The Hotel Britomart, a distinctive luxury hotel in the centre heart of downtown waterfront Auckland. It proved to be an excellent place to finish my New Zealand visit, combining thoughtful design, a wonderfully central location, attentive hospitality and an atmosphere that made it easy to switch from business mode to holiday mode.

The Hotel Britomart was also one of the featured exhibitors at MEETINGS 2026, the major NewZealand business events showcase held in Auckland in June. The event brought together buyers and exhibitors from New Zealand and international markets, making it an important gathering for the country's business events and tourism industry.

For me, staying at the hotel after MEETINGS concluded was a fitting way to extend the Auckland experience for a little longer before returning to Australia.

A Hotel With A Distinctive Auckland Personality

The Hotel Britomart
The Hotel Britomart immediately feels different from a conventional city hotel.

Located at 29 Galway Street in the vibrant Britomart precinct, the hotel sits within one of Auckland's most interesting neighbourhoods, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, bars, shopping, heritagebuildings and contemporary architecture. The waterfront is also just a short stroll away.

The architecture and interiors have a strong sense of place. Handmade bricks on the exterior are complemented by timber-lined interiors, creating an understated combination of contemporary style and natural warmth.

Rather than feeling like a large anonymous international hotel, The Hotel Britomart has apersonality of its own.

That was particularly appealing after the intensity of MEETINGS 2026. Once the exhibition and appointments were over, I wanted somewhere that felt calm and comfortable, while still putting me right in the middle of Auckland.

The Hotel Britomart delivered exactly that.

A Relaxing Stay After MEETINGS 2026

There is something especially enjoyable aboutextending a business trip with a night or two of leisure.

After spending time at MEETINGS 2026 connectingwith tourism organisations, hotels, venues and other businesses from around New Zealand, returning to The Hotel Britomart gave me the opportunity to relax and enjoy Auckland at a more leisurely pace.

The hotel's guest rooms are designed as calm retreats from the city, with timber-lined interiors and a contemporary aesthetic. The hotel currently features 99 guest rooms, alongside its highly crafted Landing Suites.

For a traveller arriving at the end of a busy business event, that sense of calm is important.

Instead of needing to travel out of the city to find some peace, I could simply return to my room, settle in and enjoy the feeling of being away from the conference schedule.

It was the perfect transition from business traveller to visitor enjoying the final moments of an Auckland stay.

The Perfect Location For Exploring Auckland

The Hotel Britomart
One of the strongest advantages of The Hotel Britomart is its location.

Britomart is one of Auckland's most vibrant urban neighbourhoods, with historic warehouses, modern architecture, pedestrian-friendly streets, restaurants, cafes, bars and shops all close together.

The waterfront is also nearby, making it easy to head out for a walk and enjoy the atmosphere of Auckland Harbour.

For visitors staying before or after a conference, the location is particularly convenient. There is no need to spend much of the day travelling between the hotel and the city's attractions.

Auckland's transport connections are also close by, with the Britomart transport hub providing access to trains and other public transport, while ferries offer another way to explore the harbour and surrounding destinations.

For my final days in Auckland, this meant I could make the most of my remaining time without turning every outing into a major journey.

Dining At kingi

Food is another important part of the experience atThe Hotel Britomart.

The hotel's kingi restaurant focuses on New Zealand seafood, with its name referring to kingfish. The restaurant celebrates locally caught and sustainably sourced seafood, bringing a distinctly New Zealand flavour to the dining experience.

After several busy days at MEETINGS 2026, being able to enjoy a relaxed meal without having to leave the hotel was a welcome convenience.

The emphasis on local produce also fits naturally with the hotel's wider philosophy of celebrating New Zealand design, food, craftsmanship and sustainability.

For an overseas visitor, dining at kingi provides another opportunity to experience something connected to the destination rather than simply eating at a generic hotel restaurant.

A Strong Choice For Business Events

The Hotel Britomart
Although my stay was primarily about relaxation after MEETINGS 2026, it was easy to see why The Hotel Britomart appeals to business travellers and event organisers.

The hotel has a range of event spaces, including The Libraries and kingi Private, allowing it to accommodate meetings, private dining, presentations and other business occasions.

The kingi Private space, for example, combines a sophisticated private dining environment with facilities suitable for meetings and presentations, with capacity for up to 12 people for meetings.

This creates an interesting proposition for companies planning executive meetings, incentive travel programs, private dinners or smaller corporate events in Auckland.

The combination of accommodation, dining, event spaces and central location means delegates can spend less time travelling and more time enjoying the destination.

New Zealand's First Five Green Star Hotel

Sustainability is another defining feature of The Hotel Britomart.

The hotel is recognised as New Zealand's only FiveGreen Star hotel, with its design and build certifiedby the New Zealand Green Building Council.

This environmental focus is incorporated into the hotel's design, operations and approach to hospitality.

For today's travellers, sustainability is increasingly part of the decision-making process when choosing accommodation. The Hotel Britomart demonstrates that environmentally conscious hospitality can also be stylish, comfortable and highly individual.

It is a combination that should appeal to both leisure travellers and business event organisers looking for accommodation that reflects contemporary expectations.

A Hotel That Makes You Want To Stay Longer

One of the best tests of a hotel is how you feel when it is time to leave.

After MEETINGS 2026 had finished, I could easily have headed straight for the airport and returned to Australia.

Instead, staying at The Hotel Britomart gave me the opportunity to slow down, enjoy Auckland and make my final New Zealand memories at a more relaxed is perhaps what I enjoyed most about the experience pace.

That is perhaps what I enjoyed most about the experience.

The hotel provided the convenience expected from a central Auckland property, but it also offered a sense of calm that made it feel like somewhere to pause rather than simply somewhere to sleep.

My Final Auckland Memories Before Returning To Australia

Every trip has a final chapter, and for my NewZealand journey that chapter was The Hotel Britomart.

Following the energy of MEETINGS 2026, the hotel's sophisticated yet relaxed character was exactly what I needed before returning to Australia.

I enjoyed being able to walk out into the Britomart neighbourhood, discover restaurants and cafes, wander towards the waterfront and simply appreciate Auckland without having to follow a conference timetable.

The experience also reinforced something that is increasingly important in business travel: the value of adding leisure time to a professional journey.

A business event may be the reason for visiting a destination, but an excellent hotel and a great location can turn that business trip into a memorable travel experience.

For travellers attending future conferences, meetings or incentive programs in Auckland, The Hotel Britomart deserves consideration not only as a place to stay, but as a base from which to experience the city.

The Hotel Britomart: An Auckland Stay Worth Remembering

The Hotel Britomart
The Hotel Britomart brings together many of the qualities I look for in a memorable city hotel: character, comfort, design, sustainability, dining and an outstanding location.

Its position in the heart of Britomart makes exploring Auckland easy, while its calm interiors provide a welcome retreat after a busy day.

My stay after MEETINGS 2026 was particularly enjoyable because it allowed me to experience the hotel beyond the business events environment.Once the exhibition had concluded, I could relax and enjoy Auckland before making my way back to Australia.

For leisure travellers, business travellers, conference delegates and incentive groups searching for a distinctive Auckland hotel, The Hotel Britomart offers a compelling combination of contemporary hospitality and a genuine it was the perfect final stop on my New Zealand journey sense of place.

For me, it was the perfect final stop on my New Zealand journey.
