In 2025, the legendary Mundi Mundi Bash will again transform the wide red plains outside Broken Hill into Australia’s most unique music and camping festival. With a record-breaking crowd of 15,000 expected to descend on the outback for this year’s event, the Mundi Mundi Bash is now firmly established as the biggest event ever staged in remote Australia.
A special feature this year includes a performance by the newly formed Headliners band—an inspiring group of artists living with disability who captured the hearts of viewers during the 2024 ABC series Headliners. Their encore performance is one of the most anticipated sets of the weekend.
There’s also morning yoga with desert views, a petting zoo for kids, comedy shows, outdoor film screenings under the stars, and the ever-popular dunny door painting competition. Whether you’re a seasoned grey nomad, a family looking for a fun getaway, or a solo traveller chasing big skies and big sounds, the Mundi Mundi Bash delivers an experience you’ll never forget.
The man behind this monumental event is Greg Donovan, founder and organiser of both the Mundi Mundi Bash and its sister festival, the Birdsville Big Red Bash. After leaving a successful corporate career in insurance, Greg took a leap of faith—using his redundancy to stage a bold music event in the middle of the outback. What started as a side project inspired by his charity work has become a full-time passion that brings thousands together under the outback sky.
From early struggles and high-stakes risk to international acclaim, Greg’s story is one of reinvention and resilience. Today, he runs some of the most remote festivals in the world, creating moments that stay with people long after the last guitar chord fades.
With its stunning desert backdrop, inclusive vibe, and unmatched Aussie atmosphere, the 2025 Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash is set to be a highlight on every traveller’s calendar.
A Line-Up That Hits Every Note
The 2025 Bash boasts a powerhouse of Aussie talent across rock, pop, country and alternative music. Festivalgoers can expect unforgettable live sets from headline stars like Missy Higgins, Hoodoo Gurus, The Cat Empire, Birds of Tokyo, The Angels, Kasey Chambers, Kate Ceberano and Leo Sayer. The return of Chocolate Starfish for a record fourth appearance is a fan favourite, joined by Brad Cox, Rose Tattoo, Ross Wilson, Shannon Noll, Dragon, Mi-Sex, Thirsty Merc, and many more.A special feature this year includes a performance by the newly formed Headliners band—an inspiring group of artists living with disability who captured the hearts of viewers during the 2024 ABC series Headliners. The Mundi Mundi Bash isn’t just about the music. It’s an all-ages, dog-friendly, three-day camping extravaganza with a jam-packed schedule of uniquely Australian outback fun.
