Lovin' this lavender

the fragrant fields of Furano

Summer is the perfect time to wander through the fragrant fields of Furano in Hokkaido Prefecture.

The name Furano is derived from the Ainu word 'furanui' meaning 'place with an odour' due to local volcanic activity.

But we think it would be better named after the beautiful scent of lavender floating through the air! Ahhhh...
