Released in late 2020, starring Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci, Supernova tells the story of two men, Sam and Tusker – partners of 20 years – who take a once-in-a-lifetime trip across England after Tusker is diagnosed with dementia. Filmed mainly in Cumbria and the timeless landscapes of the Lake District, the movie shines a light on the beauty of the region’s lakes and mountains.
Just about 2.5 hours via train from London, Sheffield is the setting for the hit West End musical turned feature film, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. The highly-anticipated musical (to be released later this year) follows a 16-year-old who overcomes prejudice and steps out of the darkness to embrace his inner drag queen. Known for its live music, award-winning theatre, street art and cultural venues, Sheffield is a city many have yet to explore.
Filmed on location in Lyme Regis, West Dorset, England, Ammonite tells the brooding story of an acclaimed fossil hunter and her relationship with a married woman (released in Australia on Jan 14). The Jurassic Coast is one of Britain’s outstanding natural gems - especially with the way its cliff exposures provide an almost continuous geological 'walk through time' of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods.
