Congratulations are in order to the 98 hotelier finalists for Stelliers, the leading Hoteliers Awards platform, who were virtually announced on 3 July. Recognising professional excellence amongst hoteliers in Asia since its debut in 2014, Stelliers featured live video remarks from the judging panel and a welcome address by the Co-Founder, Mr. Stephane de Montgros.
This year's edition commenced in February with applications being welcomed from 23 different markets across Asia. A total of 20 award categories will be conferred. Every department within a hotel property, corporate office or owning company, was given the opportunity to be recognised. Stelliers 2020 introduced a few new categories, including Sustainability Hotelier, Hygiene & Food Safety Hotelier and Owner Hotelier.
The virtual ceremony kicked off with Co-Founder, Stephane de Montgros, welcoming guests followed by a short introduction from the Gold Partner, Nespresso. Hoteliers and industry professionals tuned in from across China, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan and many more countries, to witness the announcement of finalists for each award.
The 2020 Stelliers finalists were carefully selected by a panel of expert judges, who all tuned in live to share a few words about this year's candidates. The judging panel includes Jenny Soo, Regional Director & Head of Workplace Experience Asia Pacific Corporate Solutions, JLL - Jones Lang LaSalle Property, Christophe Laurent, Group Values Ambassador, Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, Christine Gamarra, Senior Operations Lead, Deloitte, Diane Fermin Roeder, Communications Specialist in the hospitality industry and Julia Monk, Hospitality Thought Leader, Architect & Interior Designer.
As a judge for the third consecutive year, Christophe Laurent shares his experience on the panel. “It is a privilege to be involved with Stelliers again and to be a part of their judging panel, particularly during a year that has been so unprecedented and challenging for our industry. This year, the judging has been a different experience – we still share a common goal as a panel and that is to select the most exceptional individuals in each category – however, the applications have understandably had a very different focus and it has been incredible to hear some of the heart-warming stories around leadership and different initiatives that have come out of this crisis period. One common thread still remains throughout the applications though, and that is the genuine commitment to deliver authentic and caring hospitality to the industry that they love so dearly.”
All winners will be announced and celebrated during a lavish awards ceremony on the 4th of December 2020 in Macau. The prestigious evening will be full of celebratory cheer, welcoming industry professionals from across Asia to support their peers as the winners are revealed. Partners supporting the platform this year include Nespresso, RH Contract, & GHC Asia.
Stelliers prides itself on providing true recognition to the most talented and hardworking professionals that breathe life into a hotel, whilst also inspiring the younger generation to join this ever-growing industry. The Awards will continue to draw attention to these exceptional professionals in years to come, giving them the recognition and praise that they deserve. Hoteliers across Greater China, South East Asia and South Asia are kindly invited to participate in next year's exciting Awards.
