SRI LANKA TAKES APPROPRIATE MEASURES TO CONTAIN THE SPREAD OF COVID-19

The Sri Lanka government along with the Health Ministry has been quick to respond to contain and prevent the spread of the deadly Covid-19 (Corona Virus). We would like to update as follows;

• A National Action committee has been appointed to take emergency measures reporting directly to the President
• Strict preventive measures have been taken at all Arrival and Departure terminals of International and Domestic Airports
• There have been no further reported cases of “CoronaVirus” contraction reported in Sri Lanka. The single case we had of Chinese national was cured & repatriated
• Status Quo change from the fist message - now visitors from South Korea, Iran & Italy have been requested not to visit Sri Lanka. A minimum of 14 days of quarantine will be imposed on visitors from above-mentioned countries
• Since the 3rd of March, all cruise vessels calling any port of Sri Lanka has been barred from disembarking passengers. Hence most Cruise Companies had to reroute itineraries to avoid calling on Sri Lanka
• Sri Lanka’s Health Ministry has declared the “Hendala Leprosy Hospital” as the first quarantine center in the country 

Meanwhile, Authenticities have initiated the following action points to ensure that:

• All guides and Chauffeur Guides have been briefed on Covid-19 and to report any suspicious cases and exposure involved during any movements of our clients on the ground.

• Our Regional Representatives have been briefed on this situation and to pre-check hotels, report any large gathering at sites, and to accompany groups wherever necessary
• Authenticities will ensure “zero” retention or cancellation charges for any reservations for the next 3 months. We will be very flexible in our approach and ensure 100% refunds are made available for land proration of the tour
