Disneyland® Resort Commits $10 Million Annually to Childcare Program for Cast Members

Disneyland® Resort announced a commitment of $10 million annually, which can fluctuate based on usage, to launch a comprehensive program this fall to reduce some of the financial burden for childcare for full- and part-time hourly and salaried Cast Members with children 12 years old and younger.

This important enhancement will complement the already extensive childcare programs such as back-up care, childcare referral assistance and center discounts, homework help, as well as a variety of parenting educational resources.

As Disney CEO Bob Iger recently said: “Making quality childcare more accessible and affordable is the latest addition to a growing package of innovative programs that reflect our ongoing commitment to expand opportunities and improve the lives of our cast members. As with our Disney Aspire education initiative, my hope is that everyone who can benefit from this support will take full advantage of it.”

Disney has long been committed to supporting its cast members and employees in their professional and personal lives and this is the latest in our longstanding commitment to support our cast, which includes Disney Aspire—offering 100 percent free tuition to full- and part-time hourly cast—recently introduced low-cost healthcare options for full-time employees and competitive starting wages that far outpace the state minimum wage for the majority of Disneyland® Resort cast members.
