Moab Nonprofit Resiliency Hub to Present the 3rd Annual Upcycled Art Party

On Saturday November 19th, from 6 to 10 PM the entire Moab Arts & Recreation Center (111 E 100 N, Moab) will transform into a wonderland up upcycled art and crafts!

The Stage Room will feature live performances from Moab Taiko Dan and the Fiery Furnace Marching Band. There will be a Community Arts Contest, a student artist showcase and there will be a Make-Your-Own Toast bar with homemade sourdough bread donated by Kaki's Kitchen, and gourmet spreads donated by dip-master Sarah Perez-Sans of Youth Garden Project.

The entrance/Foyer of the MARC will feature the Moab Art Walk's November Artist of the Month Dre Carmen. Carmen states about his work: “My pieces are created from items left behind by these earlier residents--rusted motor oil cans from temporary mining towns, old tobacco and bean tins from cowboy camps. And I gather energy from from the spirit of the ancient peoples who populated this valley centuries before. I want my art to reflect the overwhelming feelings of humility, responsibility, wellness, and gratefulness I experience living within these canyon walls.”

The entrance fee for UAP will be a sliding scale of $5–$10 and includes all of the above amazingness.

Want to submit a piece to the Community Arts Contest and have a chance to win amazing prizes? Have any questions? Contact Gabe Woytek of Resiliency Hub at gwoytek@gmail.com.
