U-Pick - Gates Are Open in the Yarra Valley & Dandenong Ranges

The U-Pick season has opened across the Yarra Valley so come out and enjoy the juicy sweetness for yourselves! The berry and cherry farms have opened their gates up now and are abundant for summer fruit indulgence. We all love the sweet juiciness of a perfectly ripe peach, the explosion in our mouths as that delicious cherry or strawberry bursts with the first bite. It's a fact: fruit always tastes better in the sunshine, under the very tree it grew on.

Other summer stone fruits, apple and pears are available at farms such as Rayners Orchards. They have U-Pick avilable all year as they have so many varieties of fruit available on the propety - but summer is extra delicious. Gateway Estate also offers all weather and all season options plus a fully stocked produce store to shop from and enjoy a coffee when you're strawberry fix it done.

Cherryhill Orchards is abundant with sweet dark cherries - as well as their incredible cherry icecream, cakes with cherries on top, cherry cider, cherry beer and a non alcoholic cherry spritzer. Enough cherry flavours to last a whole season!

Allow plenty of time when you visit Cherryhill. Multi-lingual staff will be available to assist with finding the very best picking spots with the sweetest fruit. You might want to do some picking before relaxing on the expansive grounds to enjoy the gorgeous views and festive atmosphere, with live music on weekends and lawn games. For an extra bit of fun, you can pose inside Cherryhill's specially built, life-size photo frame to get a framed photo with the beautiful orchard as a backdrop.

Chappies are growers of cherries, raspberries and blackberries. They're all available fresh picked for sale from our on farm shop or U-Pick during November and December. The Chapman family are the pioneers of U-Pick in the region and have been growing fruit in Silvan since 1894.

Join us and fill up your buckets and baskets with the freshest, most delicious produce of the season. Stop and picnic in the shade of an big old farmhouse tree or sit down and be looked after in one of the many onsite cafes. Indulge in locally made ice-cream, cakes and other sources of family favourites after you've wandered the orchard rows.

Use the U-Pick Trail to find all the best spots.

Pack the sunhat and sunscreen and enjoy a fabulous day in the country!
