Vietnam celebrates a successful tourism year

It was a successful year for Vietnam as the country saw More than 5.5 million visitors came to Thanh Hoa in 2015. As the country is looking forward to another successful year in 2016 the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hong Tuấn Anh gave away the flag to a representative of the Kiên Giang province. The national tourism year was concluded with special focus on the Thanh Hoa Province.

The theme in 2015 was Connecting World Heritage Sites in Viet Nam. With conferences and festivities held in 16 provinces tourism found a serious boost and impetus in the country. Thanh Hoa’s revenue from tourism increased by 40 per cent over 2014.

“Thanh Hoa held many tourism activities in 2015, ensuring professional organisation, safety, economy and effectiveness,” Pham Dang Quyen, vice-president of Thanh Hoa People’s Committee, said at the closing ceremony.

The province will continue to develop its typical tourism products and promote its cultural quintessence to become the main tourist attraction of the country in 2020.

The southern Kien Giang Province will host National Tourism Year 2016, with the theme of Explore the Southern Land, to introduce and promote Phu Quoc Island as well as the Mekong River Delta

More than 60 events took place in National Tourism Year 2015, held with the theme Connecting World Heritage Sites in Viet Nam. Tourism conference and festivities have been held in 16 provinces and cities that have heritage sites, helping to boost tourism in the country.

“Thanh Hoa held many tourism activities in 2015, ensuring professional organisation, safety, economy and effectiveness,” Pham Dang Quyen, vice-president of Thanh Hoa People’s Committee, said at the closing ceremony.
