The final round of Superboat action is back on the Fraser Coast this month! Roaring to life on November 28th and 29th, the boats will again complete the deciding round of the Australian Offshore Superboat Championships on the Hervey Bay foreshore.
Councillor Events, Sport, Recreation and Open Spaces, Darren Everard, said that the public will get the chance to meet the drivers and see the boats up close with pit bay viewing every day from Friday 27th November until Sunday 29th November.
‘Esplanade markets will be put on by the Torquay Progress Association on the Sunday and local businesses along the Esplanade will be welcoming spectators into their businesses. It is a great opportunity to get out there and support our local shops and restaurants along the Esplanade’, said Cr Everard.
Larry Burch, AquaVue Café and Watersports owner said he was looking forward to a busy weekend.
‘It is great to have an event that spreads out across the Hervey Bay Esplanade. This year, Torquay will be buzzing with the markets on Sunday so we are hoping for that beautiful Fraser Coast weather to top off a great weekend’, said Larry.
Watch the boats speed around the circuit at up to 200km/hour from anywhere along the Hervey Bay Esplanade. Saturday is the shoot out and Sunday is race day, so get the dates in the diary!
