The Hyatt Regency of Honolulu

The Hyatt Regency of Honolulu
The Hyatt Regency of Honolulu is only a short stroll away from the famous Waikiki beach, where you can rent surfboards, work on your tan or relax and unwind on the sand. The location of this hotel is certainly unlike any other!

To reach the check in area, it was necessary to take the elevator up to level one, past a fantastic selction of boutique shops. There you will be greeted by friendly staff who offer exceptional service. When I arrived at 10am in the morning, I was told that my room would not be prepared until the afternoon, and that my bags could be stored until it was prepared. Around ten minutes later, the same concierge let me know that my room was ready, and he provided me with the keys to my room.

The room I stayed in was spacious, elegant and very comfortable. It contained two cozy double beds and from the balcony I could see a fantastic view of the city. Complimentary wifi was available, and I was gifted a nice bottle of red wine, which certainly made me feel welcome.

One of the unexpectedly stand out features was the high tech toilet which had an unpredictably warm rim, and offered a range of 'luxury' features. Whilst still exploring the bathrom, I noticed a personalised message from the house keeper whose name was Tracy. This certainly added a nice touch to my experience.

Not only was the room superb, but the Hyatt Regency offered an array of amenities, some of which were particularly to my liking. The gym was located on one of the lower levels, and consisted of a range of cardio machines, as well as a weights area, complimentary towles and complimentary water.

The pool, which was open until 9pm showcased some outstanding views of the beach, and featured a very impressive, fully stocked bar. I really enjoyed lounging around on one of the deck chairs, listening to some live music whilst sipping on a refreshing cocktail.

Another notable feature of the Hyatt was the hospitable atmosphere I encountered each day. Each morning, I was treated to a complimentary breakfast which consisted of scrumptious delights such as french toast, cheeses and a variety of fruits. Throughout the day, guests could access snacks and drinks such as free coffee, tea, water and muesli bars.

At night, there was a happy hour from 5pm until 7, where I discovered $5 cocktails and $4 glasses of wine. I was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the bartenders and their ability to remember my choice of beverage from the night before. As well as drinks, guests were treated to cured meats, olives, cheeses and an array of equally tasty treats.

If you happen to visit the Hyatt Regency, and you feel like exploring places outside Waikiki, there is a dedicated staff member on the first floor who can help you out with all your needs. I spent a good ten minutes discussing outdoor activities with one of the staff members, and was blown away by her knowledge and willingness to help me out.

Overall, I would have to say that the Hyatt Regency was certainly one of the best hotels I stayed in during my time in Hawaii. I would definitely recommend it to others due to it's ability to provide exceptional customer service, comfortable rooms and impressive amenities that are unlike no other.
