Sofitel Sydney Wentworth has created an enchanting fairy-tale high tea for barre ballerinas and high tea lovers, in partnership with Australian Ballet's Sleeping Beauty, available from today until 31 January 2016.

Guests of the hotel and locals alike are invited to be awakened with exquisite sweet treats, bursting with flavour and colour, before watching the most anticipated ballet of the year, David McAllister's Sleeping Beauty, performing at the Sydney Opera House from 25 November.

Available at Sofitel's Soiree Bar from $59 per person, thanks to a new partnership with designer Christina Re, vintage inspired signature tea-ware will elegantly display the home-made creations in shades of blush, pink berry and ivory and adorned in 24 carat gold finishes.

The fairy-tale masterpiece of cakes for sweet tooths include delicate fairy bread sandwiches; pastel macarons; cheese cakes; warm, freshly baked scones with jam and cream; chocolate tartlets and the icing on the cake a 'spindle in a glass' consisting of a spindle shaped chocolate with pink fairy floss.

A mesmerising Sofitel 'My Bed' will also be unveiled in the hotel lobby - encrusted with roses, show costumes and screening exclusive behind the scenes footage of the ballet.

Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beauty is the zenith of ballet's golden age, keeping true to the spirit of the original beauty. Fairies, bluebirds, a gilded court and a spell-shattering kiss: the world's most extravagant ballet by Artistic Director David McAllister. Lavish sets and costumes by Gabriela Tylesova, whose work for ballet, opera and theatre includes the much-lauded designs for Love Never Dies, will evoke the splendour of the Imperial court and the magic of fairies, nymphs and visions. The show is perfect for all ages.

Currently the year of the Barre, Sydneysiders regularly express their inner ballerina performing ballet warm-ups and pleats at the barre. And as a result, locals are expected to enjoy the show's grand pas de deux, with the show's captivating Tchaikovsky score.
