Alex Hotel |
Home to extraordinary experiences, Western Australia welcomes a wealth of new and revitalised tourism product to ATE 2015.
In the past year, WA's capital city Perth received an accommodation boost with the opening of Alex Hotel and the impending launch of Cathedral Square, a massive $584 million development due to open in September 2015.
Alex Hotel is a 74-room boutique hotel, centrally located between Perth Cultural Centre, the CBD and Perth's most diverse neighbourhood, Northbridge. The hotel caters for business and independent travellers, and includes a roof terrace garden, open plan living areas, and a European-style restaurant, Shadow Wine Bar and Dining Room.

Singapore's Como Hotels and Resorts will make its first entry into Australia's hotel market on the site of Perth's Old Treasury Buildings. The Cathedral Square precinct has undergone a period of significant transformation including the restoration of the State Buildings, a new office tower, the new City of Perth Library and construction of the new St George's Chambers. The precinct is set to become the new beating heart of Perth's CBD with restaurants, bars, shops and a luxury hotel. It's rumoured the State Buildings are set to house eight winning and dining venues, including a landmark rooftop restaurant housed in a glass box.

Of particular note is the launch of several food and beverages venues in the Northbridge precinct, including The Standard Bar and Kitchen, Lot Twenty and Perth's first crowd-funded restaurant, Lucky Chans.
