Naturewise Eco Escapes |
Operated in partnership between Conservation Volunteers and Parks Victoria, Naturewise Eco Escapes offer exclusive experiences that take travellers off the beaten tourist track, helping Parks Victoria Rangers and local experts with a range of important research and conservation activities.
These innovative and sustainable new travel experiences were recently recognised as an industry leader, winning the Victorian Tourism Awards for best new tourism product.
The all-inclusive tour packages range from day trips to four-day adventures in some of Victoria's iconic parks including, Wilsons Promontory, Grampians, Baw Baw National Park, Great Ocean Walk and the Little Dessert. Each tour provides behind the scenes experiences, small group touring led by local guides and Parks Victoria Rangers, visits to spectacular parks, sightseeing, wildlife interactions and the opportunity to help conserve Victoria's parks and wildlife.
“The Naturewise products in Victoria showcase the beauty of our natural areas whilst also contributing to our conservation outcomes and regional tourism growth” says Jo Issaverdis, Director of Ecotourism program and partnerships.
“Time spent contributing to conservation and the types of activities vary, catering to different types of travellers. You may be setting up camera monitoring equipment used to track and protect local wildlife, monitoring endangered owl species, collecting marine debris while hiking the Great Ocean Walk, joining researchers to help check traps and record data on the endangered Eastern Barred Bandicoot or keeping an eye out for wildlife on a spotlight tour” she said.
Our customers have commented “what an informative, educational and fun trip this was. Thank you for the opportunity to learn about and experience this beautiful part of Victoria. The local researchers and guide were knowledgeable and really made this trip”.
Tours depart from Melbourne and include transportation, food, accommodation and activities.
