Genbi Shinkansen

The Genbi Shinkansen is touted as the world’s fastest art gallery, which has each carriage features modern art created especially for the train by prominent artists. 

During the 1-hour journey between Echigo-Yuzawa and Niigata, you can admire Naoki Ishikawa’s photographs of the majestic K2 mountains in car 14, while Haruka Kojin’s elegant floral installations beckons you in car 15. 

Children can interact with art in car 13, while adults can also relax in car 12 with reflective walls showcasing Niigata’s natural beauty. 

Specialty desserts are available at the cafe car.
