The food and wine of the Riverina region will be showcased on a new four-day tour run by Cruise Express.
Travelling on a privately chartered heritage train, the Long Weekend Rail Adventure will depart Sydney’s Central Station on Friday, 28 September and travel to Junee and Narrandera on its way to Griffith.
Passengers will go on tours, visit farms and orange groves, enjoy wine-matched meals, cooking demonstrations and morning tea. On the return journey to Sydney, the train will stop at Goulburn via Temora for a vineyard barbecue.
The train, a 62-year-old 4204 Streamliner locomotive, includes buffet, dining and compartment cars from the 1930s and 1940s.
