Taiwan Residents No Longer Need Visa-like Permit to Enter Mainland China

Taiwan
Mainland China has removed entry permit requirements for Taiwanese residents, deepening the connection between the two sides and boosting cross-Straits exchanges.

Now residents of Taiwan can enter mainland with a three-month pass (called “Taibaozheng”) that will make getting into Mainland easier.

The simplified entry procedure will do away with the 100-yuan visa-like entry permit that Taiwan residents were previously required to apply for, and will allow taibaozheng holders a simplified entry.

This new act is in line with the recent 72-hour visa-free policies that are now available in 15 cities throughout China for transit passengers from the U.S., Canada and 49 other international countries and regions.
