Billed as “the only way to see the sites and stars from above,” Karmel Shuttle’s helicopter tours are sure to elevate your heart rate. Soar above the skyline in the comfort of an air-conditioned cockpit outfitted with leather seats, get up close and personal with the storied Hollywood sign and gaze down on Southern California’s famous beaches and celebrities’ homes.
SwingIt Trapeze
Step right up, folks! You are guaranteed to have an over-the-top experience with
SwingIt Trapeze and will want to run away and join the circus. Orange County’s first and only Trapeze School, SwingIt Trapeze provides flying trapeze and circus act lessons for ages 3-83. You will progress as time grows, learning how to do incredible tricks that you may only learn with true circus professionals.
Great Park Balloon Ride
Orange County Great Park is indeed a unique place to spend a day. The park is famous for its rousing rides aboard a giant tethered helium balloon that rises 400 feet above the city of Irvine. Flights take off every Thursday through Sunday, and on a clear day, you can see up to 40 miles away. After your flight, take the kids for a ride back in time on Great Park’s old-style carousel.
Biplane Rides
Fuel your need for speed on a two-person, open-air biplane provided by Fullerton company
SkyThrills. Choose between a variety of flight experiences, from sightseeing aerial tours of Catalina Island, Los Angeles and Orange County in a classic, 1930s open-cockpit biplane, to heart-pounding thrill rides in a world-class stunt plan. On these rides, you are literally in the driver’s seat as your pilot instructs you on how to do rolls, loops and spins at speeds topping 250 miles per hour!
Zip Lining
There are plenty of ways to explore nearby Catalina Island, so if you’re hoping to discover the island’s natural wonders with an added adrenaline rush, consider
Zip Line Eco Tour. At speeds up to 40 mph, explore lush treetops, vast canyons and colorful beaches some 300 feet above the canyon floor. Soar for two hours across five zip lines and learn about the island’s diverse wildlife and rich history.
