BLUE MOUNTAINS SET FOR A BUSY WINTER

Blue Mountains
A range of cosy and warm seasonal activities are on offer in the Blue Mountains this winter. With brisk fresh air, roaring log fires, Yulefest celebrations and exhilarating activities the region is gearing up for a busy winter.

At the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba a Soirée Concert will be held on selected Friday evenings featuring an array of musicians.

Meanwhile at the Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum in Faulconbridge visitors can discover the different ways Norman Lindsay and his brothers were involved in the World War I effort through the Billjims and Brothers exhibition, on display until the end of July. The exhibition includes recruitment posters, cartoons from The Bulletin, photos, war memorabilia and personal effects.

At the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden in Mount Tomah visitors can see authentic local Aboriginal paintings, artefacts and sculptures when the work of Darug man Dr Shane Smithers is showcased at the revamped Botanists Way Discovery Centre throughout June and July. Visitors can also join bird watching expert Carol Probets from 8am to 11am on July 25 for a winter bird walk in the garden.

Finally, at the Everglades Historic House & Gardens in Leura from July 6 to 9, visitors will be able to roam the grounds and art deco house, indulge in homemade refreshments by the fire and browse the Dalai Lama World Peace Portrait Event.
