The Expo’s Travel Ambassador for this year will be the awe-inspiring Jeremy Scott, who cycled nearly 52, 000 km across 29 countries.

Jeremy was born with a huge hole in his aorta valve, and had to undergo open heart surgery at just four years old.

Realising how lucky he was to be alive, Jeremy grew up craving challenges and new experiences. With a goal in his sights he set off on a self-funded trip with practically no training in 2011. He reached his goal in May 2014, over two and a half years later. His journey was no easy feat, and Jeremy braved extreme conditions in order to achieve his ambitious task.

“Nothing went perfectly and I was always making mistakes, but you learn not to be impatient. I just wanted something to be proud of… The hardest part was finding the courage; actually quitting my job and setting off. The first few weeks were miserable but after I successfully cycled through Europe in 10 weeks there was a huge change in my attitude and beliefs. I knew I could do it.”

Following on from the success of the Sydney expo in November 2014, the Melbourne Adventure Travel Expo promises to deliver even more excitement and expert advice delivered by professionals who live and breathe adventure.
