Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa ready to welcome tourists on Lunar New Year Festival

The number of tourists coming to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa on Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) 2014 is forecast to rise sharply. Local hotels and tourist spots are preparing many interesting activities to serve tourists on this occasion.

Numerous visitors to come Nha Trang

Some big hotels in Nha Trang such as Novotel, Michelia, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang, Sheraton Nha Trang, Hai Au and Ana Mandara have been booked during the time from the 2nd and 5th of the first lunar month (February 1 – 4). Most of the guests are foreigners on winter vacation and Vietnamese people on Lunar New Year holiday.

“Like previous years, Nha Trang is still an interesting destination for tourists to celebrate Lunar New Year. Moreover, due to unstability in Thailand, tourism demand from this country moves to local destinations, including Nha Trang. Vietravel will bring about 1,000 tourists to Nha Trang in four days on February 1-4, a 20% increase year-on-year”, revealed Doan Hai Quan, director of Vietravel – Nha Trang Branch.

These are some signals to forecast that Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa will enjoy a large number of tourists on Tet holiday.

Many interesting activities for tourists

To welcome tourists on the occasion, hotels and tourist areas in Nha Trang have prepared a lot of interesting programs.

On the Lunar New Year Eve, Novotel Nha Trang Hotel will hold a party on the 18th floor for guests to see fireworks. This is the most ideal place to see New Year fireworks thanks to locating beside 2-4 Square where the fireworks will be let off. Similarly, Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel also has a New Year fireworks party at Altitude Bar on the 28th floor.

In addition, to create a New Year celebration in Vietnamese traditional style, hotels will have parties with many Vietnamese dishes for Tet as well as special activities such as union dance, New Year’s greetings and gifts to guests, lucky lots and calligraphy show.

Particularly, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang Hotel continues to make a record Tet cake, marking the Lunar New Year. According to Dong Luong Son, director of the hotel, the Tet cake this year will be 39 meters in length, one meter longer than the one last year. The record Tet cake will be cut and sold for locals and tourists at 6 pm on January 2 and all the earning will be used for charity.

Along with hotels, tourist spots in Nha Trang also are promptly making careful preparations to serve tourists on Tet. For instance, Hoa Lan Stream tourist area plans to build up an orchid street on the island with hundreds of kinds of orchids on the road to Hoa Lan Stream. Monkey Island will open a seafood market and organize many interesting music and circus shows everyday. Nhu Tien Beach will open a Tet market with many Vietnamese dishes for Tet, Vietnamese traditional products and funny folk games.

With good preparations, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa is expected to satisfy visitors during the coming Lunar New Year Festival.
