Solo travel experiences for women

Solo travellers are more likely to immerse themselves in their surroundings and get an authentic taste for the local culture.

Fly fishing experience in Nevada 

Autumn Harry has her fly-fishing business at Pyramid Lake, northern Nevada where she provides an iexperience for women to join her in an activity largely dominated by men. 

Since obtaining her fly-fishing licence in December 2022, Autumn has become the first Paiute woman to lead these tours on her native land. 

Her business, Kooyooe Pa Guides, is the Paiute name for the local lake and nods to her indigenous heritage.

Wild Encounters in Rwanda 

A recent study found Rwanda to be the sixth safest country in the world, and safest country in Africa, for solo travellers.

Bermuda 

The island of Bermuda in the North Atlantic Ocean known for its pink-sand beaches. Bermudian Kristin White offers historical walking tour through the Town of St. George’s when she imparts her knowledge of the island’s 400 year old heritage. 

To venture into Bermuda’s wilderness, travellers can join Doreen Williams James, creator of Wild Herbs and Plants of Bermuda, on a foraging tour to find the island’s edible fruits, vegetables and herbs, before utilising these fresh ingredients in a cooking demonstration.
