OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka to be named as a hotel that prevents the spread of infection by the Governor of Tokyo

At OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka, a city-tourism hotel that promotes the city of Otsuka, thorough actions against coronavirus is being executed by avoiding the Three Cs (close contact, confined spaces and crowded places) and managing health and hygiene. On 27 June, 2020, the Governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike, visited OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka for an administrative inspection in order to check the current state of tourism. After seeing the different actions that are carried out, OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka received a good evaluation.

Actions to ensure safe travel in a time with corona.
The service at Hoshino Resorts continues to make progress by avoiding the Three Cs and managing health and hygiene, which are the two main aspects of actions against coronavirus for us. The following are being implemented at OMO5 Tokyo Otsuka, including the disinfection of facility, checking the health of guests, ventilation of public areas and guest rooms, different ways of keeping social distancing, etc. There are also automated check-in and check-out machines to reduce person-to-person contact, as well as introducing takeout spots near the hotel. We are making sure of both safety and fun in travel during this time with corona.

Conversations between Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo, and CEO of Hoshino Resorts, Yoshiharu Hoshino
On 27 June 2020, Yuriko Koike, the Governor of Tokyo, visited our property and after inspecting the property, had conversations with the CEO of Hoshino Resorts, Yoshiharu Hoshino, about the future of tourism for Tokyo. The Governor gave us positive feedback such as “it feels safe to be able to check-in using an automated system without any person-to-person contact” and “this hotel is compact and incorporates different ideas, and I think it has established a form of tourism in Tokyo.”

Comments from Yuriko Koike, Governor of Tokyo
To bring back tourism in Tokyo, I came here to find clues and ideas to make progress in the compatibility of actions against coronavirus and economy/society. I believe people are prioritizing their use of hotels and businesses that are following protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.

This hotel checks out all that are listed on the guidelines of Tokyo for the prevention of the spread of the virus and so there is a reassurance of safety. We would like to make an appeal of safety for each area of Tokyo as well as the hotels and tourism in Tokyo.

Any crowds at the reception as well as close contact with staff is minimized by actions such as guiding guests to line up 2m apart from each other, controlling crowds, and using automated check-in machines for a speedy procedure.
