Toyama Black ramen in Japan

Nothing satisfies hunger better than a delicious bowl of ramen – for a unique treat, try the Toyama Black ramen. The noodles are bathed in thick, full-bodied black broth made with special soy sauce. Originating at a ramen shop in Toyama called Taiki back in 1947, the dish was originally made to be quite salty to be served as a side dish. Today, while the saltiness of the broth differs from shop to shop, this flavourful main meal is often topped with lots of pepper and shredded spring onions.
