There are Bird Trails to see the large variety of birds in a Bird Sanctuary, Mangrove, Wetland or Rainforest. Religious visits to churches, temples and monasteries can be made. National Parks can be visited, including one with an Elephant Orphanage.

Diving can be done on nearby shipwrecks or coral reefs. Archaeological sites can be visited for those interested in ancient history. Sports fishing can be done in the Indian Ocean or for those would like their fish already caught, fish can be purchased at the Lellama Fish Market For those with a full day to fill in, full-day excursions can be made to Kandy, to the Galle Fort, or on a Dolphin Watch Tour. Other excursions can be made on a Negombo Dutch Fort and City Tour, by taking a boat ride on the Dutch Canal, going down to Colombo for a City Tour, hopping on a bicycle for a Bicycle Tour, or by taking part in one of the Water Sports at the professional water sports centre.

Location
Negombo is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular beach destinations on the island’s northwestern coast. Jetwing Beach Hotel is a mere 12 kilometres (20 minutes drive) from the Bandaranaike Nike International Airport. Columbo is just a 43 km drive away. The hotel is set in 2.5 acres of landscaped gardens.
