By partnering with BIG4 Holiday Parks, children's cancer charity Camp Quality aims to take another step closer in achieving their goal of helping every child in Australia living with cancer.
Simon Rountree, CEO of Camp Quality said: “Every step we take towards expanding our programs is a step towards improving the lives of children living with cancer, and we are delighted to be partnering with BIG4 Holiday Parks for the second consecutive year.”
Campers are invited to come dressed as their favourite superhero to help raise vital funds while enjoying a variety of super activities, games, and entertainment under the stars with friends and family at more than 90 participating BIG4 Holiday Parks across Australia. For $20, campers can book a powered site, with all funds raised going directly to Camp Quality.
According to BIG4 Holiday Parks CEO Steven Wright, the annual Camp & Care initiative is an important one for BIG4.
“BIG4 is committed to supporting Australians and local communities through proactive initiatives like Camp & Care,” said Mr Wright.
“Our park owners work closely with us to actively engage with community causes, creating awareness through park activities and raising funds.
“BIG4 and Camp Quality share many similar priorities, including supporting families taking the time to share experiences and the outdoors together for a much needed and meaningful break away from their day-to-day lives.
“We have been conducting our Camp & Care events for 10 years, with Camp Quality chosen as the charity last year in what was our most successful year to date, raising over $22,000 from the event. This year, we would like to raise the bar even higher so we can support a greater number of families and also increase awareness for this great cause.”
Celebrities including singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell, MTV's Krit, Australian boy band Brothers3, former AFL superstar Wayne Schwass, Channel 10 host Jen Adams and Hi-5's Ainsley Melham will also be helping raise awareness for Camp Quality by sharing their personal 'hidden hero' on social media with the hashtag #myhiddenhero.
Camp & Care's 'hidden heroes' includes sponsors Turu, Australia's premier holiday accommodation booking site, Rid, Australia's iconic medicated insect repellent, and Anaconda, Australia's largest camping superstore.
From today, people are encouraged to take to social media and unmask the hidden heroes in their life using the hash-tag #myhiddenhero.
