The Truffle Kerfuffle Southern Forest Food Festival is an annual event highlighting regional food and wine.
It's a celebration of the range of cultures which brought about the ability to produce the foods grown in the Southern Forests, the range of foods themselves, as well as a focus on the black truffle.

WA produces more black truffle than the rest of Australia combined.
Truffle Kerfuffle Southern Forests Food Festival celebrates the start of the truffle season and the very best produce the region has to offer. From its initial beginnings in 2011, Truffle Kerfuffle has grown into a highlight of the Australian tourism calendar.
This winter festival has a hands on and adventurous atmosphere, with truffle hunters in search of prized truffles, truffle dog demonstrations, local markets and masterclasses with locally and nationally celebrated chefs. The festival features Sunday as its family day with free admission for under 18s; an experience for foodies of all ages. Based at the historic Fonty's Pool Caravan Park, Truffle Kerfuffle is held annually on the last weekend in June.

Truffle Kerfuffle |
The truffle is the third most expensive food in the world; prized for its rarity as well as its beguiling aroma. With more than 70 per cent of premium black truffles produced in Australia coming from the Southern Forests, the region is the largest producer of black truffle in the southern hemisphere. A fact that has earned the small town of Manjimup and the Southern Forests its place on the international culinary map.
Truffle Kerfuffle is organised by Truffle Kerfuffle Inc, a non-profit organisation. Back in January 2011, 20 local truffle farmers and their supporters held a meeting to gauge support for a truffle festival and toss around a few ideas. Five years later, Truffle Kerfuffle’s membership still comprises local producers and supporters. It has grown in size but it is still overseen by a volunteer committee.
The region includes the towns of Manjimup, Pemberton, Northcliffe and Walpole, where you can walk in the forest, climb a lookout tree, go trout fishing, truffle hunting, horse riding, kayaking or visit a winery. There are a wealth of accommodation options to suit the luxury weekender to the budget conscious traveller. There’s a lot to see and do. Our mission at Truffle Kerfuffle is wide-ranging: we want people to come and experience the tall trees, clean air, art and craft and above all, great produce.
