NSW has received over 70,000 applications for Destination NSW’s Chief
Funster Officer, as part of the Best Jobs in the World promotion with
Tourism Australia.
The Chief Funster Officer role is the most popular job with Australian
applicants, with over 8,000 local residents entering. NSW has received
over 16,000 entries from the each of the key youth markets of United
Kingdom and United States, as well as strong interest from Italy,
France, Korea and Germany.
The Chief Funster will be based in Sydney, travelling NSW as social
media commentator for Destination NSW. The Chief Funster appearing at
all major tourism launches, media events and festivals on the NSW Events
Calendar, reporting on the best of Australia’s leading Calender and how
visitors can plan their trip to Sydney and NSW.
Destination NSW CEO Sandra Chipchase urged young people to take up this
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and enter the competition before
applications close on Wednesday 10 April.
“As Australia’s major events and creative services State, the events
that NSW’s Chief Funster may attend include Sydney New Year’s Eve,
Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, Vivid Sydney and the Sydney Racing Carnival.”
“All they have to do is enjoy themselves and tell the world about what
they are experiencing. We have seen some fantastic entries so far, and
look forward to seeing more over the next week,” Ms Chipchase said.
