The Sea of Japan in the Hokuriku region is known as a natural habitat that yields an abundance of fresh seafood year-round

Fukui Prefecture
During winter, one of the most sought-after delicacies is the Echizen Gani Crab, also known as snow crabs.

These male crabs are brought into fishing ports in Fukui Prefecture between November and March each year.

Thriving in both warm and cold tides amidst complex ocean currents, these snow crabs have a solid, sweet flavor complemented by a creamy crab miso filling.

Crab lovers from various parts of the country and the world eagerly anticipate the beginning of snow crab season.

As a result, the prefecture's fishing ports and specialized seafood restaurants bustle with activity each year!
