The Ifuru Island Maldives has opened in the Raa Atoll

It has 147 beach suites and villas along with six restaurants and four bars.

Ifuru Island has also teamed up with 21kjump World Champion skydiver Will Penny to create the Maldives' first permanent skydiving drop zone. 

Between the beginning of November and the end of March, guests can take to the sky over the waters of the Indian Ocean. 

There is also the chance to dive with several species of sharks that are in the area. The Maldives Raa Atoll comprises some 80 plus islands, of which 15 are inhabited. 

It enjoys topographical and geographical features that make it particularly rich and diverse in marine life. 

The outer ridge of the atoll is deep, while the inner islands are on shallower plateaus, creating favourable conditions for the proliferation of corals and fish. 

The western ridge of the atoll is also close to one of the best deep-water fishing sites in the Maldives, making it an excellent place to see both reef and pelagic fish.
