Queensland's tourism industry can celebrate the recommencement of flights between Haneda, Japan and Brisbane. The Qantas Airbus A330-300 will now operate three times per week from Haneda, Tokyo direct to Brisbane, bringing 46,460 inbound seats per year and is predicted to contribute $41 million in overnight visitor spending to our visitor economy. The return of the flight is supported through the Queensland Government’s Attracting Aviation Investment Fund (AAIF).
Earlier the Queensland Government also announced its support for China Airlines to increase its existing Taipei to Brisbane service from three flights a week to five from January through the AAIF. This is the seventh inbound service supported through the fund with more overseas flights expected in the coming months.
The good news also comes as Brisbane is set to welcome its three millionth passenger this holiday season.
