Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) – the leading meetings and incentives event in the region – will open its doors next week to showcase a bigger event in 2020 than seen in its previous year, with an overall growth in exhibitor numbers and pre-registered visitors year-on-year.
The 2020 show floor has already confirmed over 330 exhibitors from all over the Asia Pacific and wider world, with over 2,500 industry professionals attending and 13 tailored educational development programs from which to learn.
While 2020 has seen challenges that have affected the business events industry both nationally, with the Australian bushfires, and globally with the unfolding events of the novel coronavirus and travel restrictions around the world, AIME will continue to run as scheduled, 17–19 February at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Reaffirming the event’s trajectory for success and flexibility to adapt, Matt Pearce, CEO of Talk2 Media & Events said, “When working in any event you’ll always have to consider the ‘what if’ – whether it’s meeting guest expectations or being challenged by a global crisis.
“For AIME in particular, the travel restrictions imposed by the Australian Federal Government in response to the coronavirus for travelers arriving from mainland China[i] have impacted only a small percentage of the show's total buyer and exhibitors at AIME.
“Ultimately, we are the first large-scale event of the year and we know people are keen to get on with and drive their businesses. This is even more true this year – and we are looking forward to seeing positive business connections come to life.”
Furthermore, the show floor will host over 100 regional Australian exhibitors, highlighting the strong approach from Tourism Australia, the Victorian State Government and the national events community to offset some of the impact of bushfires to drive business into the affected areas.
With less than a week to go until AIME 2020, online registrations to attend are still open. For more details or to register to attend, please visit aime.com.au.
