Videos Show 360 Degree Views of Tropical North Queensland

Incredible 360-degree videos of Tropical North Queensland will whisk potential visitors on a virtual tour of the destination and leave them wanting to visit the real thing.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) Chief Executive Officer Alex de Waal said the social media campaign used new video technology to creatively market the destination by making viewers feel a part of the experience on their screen.

“This 360-degree technology, which is best viewed on a tablet or smart phone, is ideal for promoting a destination as spectacular as Tropical North Queensland as it brings our magnificent natural scenery and experiences to life,” he said.

“We're confident that taking people deeper into the Great Barrier Reef, connecting them with the Wet Tropics Rainforest or sharing our enviable tropical lifestyle will create a stronger desire for the destination and encourage them to consider Tropical North Queensland for their next holiday.

“Featured locations include Wongaling Beach, Dunk Island, Four Mile Beach, Macrossan Street, The Reef Marina at Port Douglas, Rex Smeal Park, Mossman Gorge, Millaa Millaa Falls, Nandroya Falls, Curtain Fig Tree, Palm Cove's esplanade and Agincourt Reef.

“Phil Warring from Phlipvids, a finalist in the Tropical North Queensland Young Achiever Excellence Awards, created the suite of six videos on the Great Barrier Reef, Port Douglas, Palm Cove, Mossman Gorge, Atherton Tablelands and Dunk Island.

“The videos will be showcased on the Tropical North Queensland's Facebook page and YouTube Channel and shared with Tourism and Events Queensland, Tourism Australia and the local businesses and destinations featured in them.

“Tropical North Queensland has a highly-engaged Facebook audience of more than 168,000 people from all over the world and we anticipate more followers as word about the incredible immersive views of our destination spread.”
