MEETINGS' social programme promises to inspire and entertain

Conference and incentive industry delegates can expect a warm New Zealand welcome and plenty of inspiration at the 20th CINZ MEETINGS in June.

“MEETINGS’ social programme has reached legendary status, and it is a vital part of our success. Every year we aim to raise the bar with new ideas to inspire and entertain,” says Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) Chief Executive, Sue Sullivan.

“Our event sponsors and partners are pulling out all the stops to showcase this country’s top venues, cuisine and creative talent for the business events industry. We know the eyes of the event world are on us, and this is our chance to shine.”

The 20th CINZ MEETINGS welcome function promises to be a special affair at The Langham Hotel, Auckland on 14 June. “Gold is the theme for a sophisticated soiree to get MEETINGS started in style,” she says.

The following evening, host city Auckland is inviting MEETINGS’ international buyers to be the first to experience New Zealand’s latest and most exciting entertainment experience.

On 16 June the event finale, themed Pasifika, is a seated dinner for 650 showcasing Auckland’s newest function and conference space at Vodafone Events Centre - the Sir Noel Robinson Conference Centre.

“International buyers and media are picking up on our culture of hospitality – Manaakitanga. It’s something exceptional for them, and it sets us apart on the world stage. Sharing good food and entertainment helps us share new ideas and knowledge too, building valuable relationships,” Sue Sullivan says.

Throughout the two days of MEETINGS over 950 delegates will be hosted to catered lunches, a myriad of all-day tea and coffee options, and mix and mingle drinks after the show, all featuring a strong local element. “We know the little things, like a good coffee whenever you need one, make all the difference."

Before the two-day show gets underway 100 Australian hosted buyers and media will experience New Zealand first hand on eight different regional familiarisation tours, profiling the activities, accommodation, cuisine, and attractions on offer in each. The next day Auckland Convention Bureau will host them on tours around New Zealand’s largest city to experience all the top venues, services and attractions.

Run by Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ), MEETINGS is New Zealand’s only national business tourism event, bringing together buyers and sellers to grow business opportunities and share knowledge and ideas.
