ORANGE SECURES CYCLING EVENT

A new cycling event, Orange Challenge, is set to showcase the best of the Central West region to cycling enthusiasts from around Australia. The event has been secured for Orange until 2018 by the NSW Government through Destination NSW.

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said, “Orange Challenge is open to all cyclists looking to test their skills and involves a one-day 170km ride through the region, highlighting the beauty and diversity of the surrounding towns and giving visitors and their families the opportunity to spend time exploring the area.”

“The NSW Government has worked with Bicycle Network to develop and secure this event for Regional NSW. Beginning in March 2016 the event is expected to attract more than 3,000 international and domestic visitors to the area over three years, with an estimated visitor spend of more than $1.5 million in the same period.”

The inaugural Orange Challenge will take place on 20 March 2016.
