USA Today Features Beijing’s “Vibrant Food Scene”

Beijing’s “Vibrant Food Scene”
A recent article from USA Today’s travel section highlights Beijing’s thriving food scene, which they assert has become “visibly more vibrant in the last few years” – in part, they say, due to the shift from formal fine dining to “genuine culinary experiences,” authentic eateries with a focus on the food, and even restaurants located in historic buildings and settings.

Two experts – one from the high-end Rosewood Hotel Group and the other a food photographer living in Beijing – “dish” on their choices for the best places to eat in Beijing.

Their suggestions include a proper Peking duck, authentic Chinese dumplings, a meal with a “true sense of a place” and that is truly authentic Chinese food, others with memorable ambience (such as one restaurant in a 600-year-old temple), farmers markets, street food, cooking classes, and even Japanese, Spanish, and Italian restaurants throughout Beijing.
