Quang Ninh welcomes over 4.77 million tourist arrivals in five months

The northern province of Quang Ninh in Vietnam greeted nearly 735,000 tourist arrivals in May, bringing the total figure for the first five months to over 4.77 million arrivals, 62% of the year’s plan or a year-on-year rise of 12%, reported the Quang Ninh provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Of this, foreign arrivals reached 1.15 million, a 4% increase over a year earlier and tourist arrivals staying overnight were over 1.65 million, also a 4% rise against the same period last year.

Total tourism turnover in the five months hit VND2.72 trillion, 41.9% of the year’s plan or a year-on-year increase 21%.

The result came from the province’s successfully organising the Ha Long-Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2015 with a series of significant activities and programs, especially the Ha Long carnival.
