Sri Lanka Plans on Reopening Airports from 01st August 2020

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has recommended reopening the airports from 1st August, seeking to end a four-month-long shutdown following the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The recommendation had been put forward during a discussion with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to revive the country’s key revenue-generating tourism industry.

All health measures implemented will be based on international and local health guidelines

No COVID-19 infected individual was reported from the community since April 30th

Hotels and Restaurants registered with the Tourism Authority to open first

The Ministry of Tourism & Aviation has published a set of Operational Guidelines on Preparedness & Response for COVID-19 Outbreak for the Tourism Industry.
