Mt Buller announces brand new sled dog event

Mt Buller Sled Dog Quest
Mt Buller will play host to a brand new event on the snow season calendar, with the Mt Buller Sled Dog Quest set to take place on July 28-29. Held over two action-packed days, the event will see sled dog teams from across Australia compete across two challenging courses, with up to 30 teams expected to compete.

Commencing on Tuesday 28th July, participants will complete the race on two set courses: a shorter course designed for two and four dog teams, and a longer course for six and eight dog teams. Held at twilight, teams will begin from the heart of the Village, heading up the Bourke Street ski run and around a course that weaves around the ski area.

Day two will see the six and eight dog teams assemble in the Corn Hill area, a stunning corner of the mountain where they will follow a course along the picturesque trail towards Mt Stirling.

Chief Executive Officer for Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management, John Huber, is looking forward to fun and thrilling event. “We are very excited to welcome the Mt Buller Sled Dog Quest and all the participants to our calendar of events in 2015. The race will offer a fun and diverse experience for competitors and spectators alike.

“The team from Australian Sled Dogs Tours began operating at Mt Buller in 2014, and have been hugely popular since they arrived. The Mt Buller Sled Dog Quest builds on the popularity of this activity and offers guests a new way to interact with the dogs and witness a really unique event.”
