LEGOLAND® MALAYSIA RESORT LAUNCHES NEW ACTIVITIES TO COINCIDE WITH THE RELEASE OF THE LEGO MOVIE

With the much anticipated arrival of The LEGO Movie in Australia last week, the passion for LEGO® has been reignited in children of all ages. To coincide with the film’s release, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort, Asia Pacific’s only LEGOLAND®, has kicked-off a schedule of special hosted weekends at the park for fans.

Based in the state of Johor in the south of the country, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort will be able to participate in a multitude of fun learning activities ranging from treasure hunts, singing and dance classes, and for the grand finale, a fashion show featuring children guests on the last weekend of every month.

Easily accessed from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort is the world’s sixth LEGO theme park and has a LEGO® themed water park and hotel on site, with attractions that include roller-coasters, educational activities and a to-scale Miniland. The Miniland attraction features replica Asian landmarks on a scale of 1:20, with over half a million bricks used to construct the Petronas Towers.

“It’s going to be a year of excitement and surprises at LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort,” said Mark Germyn, General Manager of LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort.

“Throughout the year, families will be able to enjoy an array of activities that will enhance their trip to the Park, creating unique experiences for guests such as LEGO® building competitions, karaoke, fashion shows, and cupcake decorating lessons. There’s always something new happening at LEGOLAND® Malaysia,” Mark continued.

LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort opened late 2012 on the Iskandar site in the southern state of Johor; a development project set to be completed in 2020. The project turn the whole region into a tourism destination in its own right, through the creation of theme parks; water parks; entertainment, retail and residential complexes and new luxury hotels and resorts. LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort is three hours from Kuala Lumpur and 30 minutes from Singapore.
