SEEK ADVENTURE – NEW SURF ATTRACTION FOR WALES

Surf Snowdonia is an exciting new surfing and water sports park to be built in the village of Dolgarrog, in the beautiful Conwy Valley of North Wales. Set in the foothills of the Snowdonia National Park, Surf Snowdonia will be a showcase for the World’s first publicly accessibleWavegarden® artificial surfing lagoon. This revolutionary concept, which has fired the imagination of the World’s surfers, generates powerful and consistent surfing waves, of varying heights up to 6 feet, in a 300m long lagoon. It is ideal for all surfers, from grommets (beginners both young and old) to professional surfers, and will be a fantastic family destination. Surf Snowdonia will also play host to events, competitions and surf demos, giving the public access to the World’s top surfers.

Complementing the Wavegarden facility will be a range of other exciting attractions. Our Hub building will feature a 50 metre long café, restaurant and bar positioned immediately alongside the surfing lagoon, whose glass front will allow visitors to enjoy food and drink whilst watching the surfing action close-up. The catering facilities will be available to visitors who wish merely to stop off for a drink and a snack, or perhaps a full meal, but who have no intention of getting wet. Retail and changing facilities complete the Hub building offer. Other activities around the site will include attractive rural landscaping, woodland trails, Wifi, outdoor play and events spaces.

The Activity Lagoon will focus on low skill fun for all the family featuring an amazing experience of ‘Blobbing’, obstacles, overhangs and inflatables, all within sight of the Hub building. An indoor children’s play building will provide a safe and secure soft play and activity centre for 2-10 year olds, complete with a coffee bar. In the early stages of the project we will provide a camping site complete with a shower block facility. Partnerships with local accommodation providers will cater for those seeking a more sophisticated level of overnight comfort, and it is our intention to build our own accommodation units after a few years of operation.

Surf Snowdonia will be a world first, generating waves of up to 6 feet in a 300m long lagoon.

It adds to Wales's growing range of activities for adrenaline seekers.

The longest zip line in the northern hemisphere can also be found in Snowdonia, and on the quirkier end of the spectrum, Bounce Below has just opened – the world's first subterranean playground where you can trampoline beneath a slate mine!
