The One Travel Conference held at the Radisson Blu Mall of America Jan. 28-30 delivered on its theme: Mega-Opportunities in Global Tourism. The event featured presentations by Tourism industry leaders like Yvonne Lapenofire, Chief Marketing Officer for Brand USA. About 120 tourism officials attended the conference which was sponsored by Mall of America and the Bloomington (MN) Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Highlights also included Mall of America’s (MOA) plans to more than double its size over the next eight years by adding a five-star hotel, cutting-edge retail, attractions and an office tower. Guests toured MOA’s new revolutionary Enhanced Service Portal (ESP) which combines social media and customer service programs.
The One Travel Conference is a yearly collaboration of the Shop America Alliance, led by President Rosemary Rice McCormick, and the U.S. Cultural & Heritage Tourism Marketing Council, headed by President Sheila Armstrong.
Guests also enjoyed MOA’s world-class shopping featuring 520 stores with no sales tax on clothing or shoes. The Mall also offers 50 restaurants and family attractions galore including Nickelodeon Universe, the nation’s largest indoor amusement park. More than 42 million people visit MOA annually from around the world.
