Thailand: The Ghost Passengers of Bangkok’s Late-Night Taxis

Thailand
In Bangkok, a famous urban legend haunts the city’s taxi drivers. This tale is often shared over the air on late-night radio stations dedicated to ghost stories. According to the tale, some drivers have recounted eerily similar experiences with two mysterious female passengers who appear late at night, hailing a ride near a stretch of railway. The women, quiet and seemingly somber, ask to be dropped off at a nearby temple.

It’s only after reaching the temple that the story takes a chilling turn. Drivers report that when they look back to ask for payment, the back seat is empty—no sign of the two women at all. Shocked, some drivers have tried to search for answers, only to learn that two women matching their descriptions were tragically killed by an oncoming train on that very track years ago. Today, some drivers steer clear of the area late at night, and those who don’t may just find themselves with two ghostly passengers whose journey is never really over.
