The launch of a direct flight from Da Lat to Kuala Lumpur by budget-airline AirAsia on November 1 is expected to open up bright prospects for tourism and economic development in the Central Highland Lam Dong province, according to insiders.
Sharing information about the tourism potential that exists in Da Lat, Firdauz Bin Othman, consul general of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasised that the opening of the direct flight will serve as an important bridge to link two of the most attractive tourist destinations in Southeast Asia.
Furthermore, the route will help to shorten travel time while tourists of the two cities will have opportunities to shop and travel conveniently at a better cost.
Bin Othman pointed out that in addition to tourism, the route can also contribute to connecting trade, especially in the field of agricultural exports, thereby serving to promote bilateral ties between Vietnam and Malaysia and bringing about socio-economic benefits and close exchanges between the people of the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign is being implemented, aiming to attract a large number of international tourists to Malaysia, making an important contribution to their development, he noted.
On November 4, the Lam Dong Tourism Association is scheduled to organise a programme to promote trade, investment, and tourism of Lam Dong in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
