The blockbuster Netflix series Territory has shone a spotlight on the epic outback landscape of the Northern Territory's Top End. Now it’s time to see to brush off the Akubra, lace up the boots and experience Kakadu in all its authentic glory.

In just its second week, Territory became the second-most-watched TV series globally, with a total of 12.7 million views over the first two weeks.

Territory included Kakadu National Park in several scenes, leveraging its striking landscapes to depict the intensity and ruggedness of the neo-western drama, which has been described (jokingly) as “Dallas with dingoes”.

Special permission was granted by Kakadu’s Traditional Owners to film within the park, including locations such as Cannon Hill, a dramatic sandstone rock which is a listed sacred site within the park containing significant rock art dating back many thousands of years.
