The South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) will be heading to the Gold Coast in Australia on May 20th and 21st in 2016.
The South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) made the announcement in Suva today.
After hosting a successful SPTE 2015 at the Melbourne Convention Centre in Australia this year, the region's premier tourism marketing and development authority made the decision to take the annual tourism expo up north after consultations with its members and stakeholders.
SPTO Chief Executive Ilisoni Vuidreketi stated: “Our consultations with our members and stakeholders looked at various options to host SPTE 2016. After considering all the factors, Gold Coast in Australia was chosen as the host city for 2016.”
“This decision was based on a number of factors including the 2016 Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) also being hosted at the Gold Coast”, Mr. Vuidreketi added.
“We have gauged the plausible benefits of aligning the SPTE dates after ATE as we will be able to tap into the travel agents and media that attend Australia's largest tourism exchange”, he continued.
“We are excited to host our tourism exchange on the Gold Coast and we believe this will add value to our ever growing tourism exchange that will benefit all our members and stakeholders,” he added.
