Themed with "Approaching the Most Beautiful Village and Touching Jiarong Culture", the Danba Jiarong Tibetan Festival kicked off on Oct. 26 in Garze Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan province. The festival consists of the Square Art Show, Jiarong Culture Seminar and Danba Food Fair.
The Danba Jiarong Tibetan Festival has been listed as "Festival for six major ethnic groups in Garze" since 2003. Danba was also ranked the first on the ranking of "Six Most Beautiful Ancient Towns in China" in the list of "The Most Beautiful Places in China" in 2005. Danba has become an important transit point and one of the main tourism destinations in the tour routes of Sichuan province.
People in Danba gather together to enjoy the leisure time after the harvest. They taste good wine while perform Guozhuang Tibetan Dance to eliminate the whole year's fatigue, which forms a kind of custom as time passes.
